You can't have it with 127 values per knob.
I would also argue that 16384 isn't quite analog level of smooth either, if we are talking about high resonance slow tweaks.
And most analog to digital knob value encoders are below 2000 values.

I agree impossible to judge when not trying to make them closer, they all have totally different effects. The first one is having a shorter reverb and the second maybe a phaser involved? The last one definitely sounded best and probably is repro-5 the other two didnt sound good at all, but that could be the artificial effect.

I am tempted to recreate this sound from the real P5:

Some time ago i used a freebie synth and got pretty close, i wonder if R5 can do better.
I remember U-He did that sound with R1 few weeks ago too. (i was mistaken, it was R5 closed beta, not R1)
Once i get some free time, i'll do my own R5 version. :)

So there’s either 0-127 or fine? Lets say I used a 14bit controller. Even then I would only get 127 steps or fine? There’s now way to have smooth filter response? :(

Btw, it looks like Repro1 & 5 have already been cracked. Damn shame... Hey Urs, maybe you could chime in about the filter smoothing with a higher resolution controller? Also, for us paying customers can you possibly implement a better protection scheme once the official version has been released? Appreciate all the hard work and all I can say is that Repro5 is the best analog synth emu I’ve ever heard!!!

Ni Kore controller knob sensitivity can be raised to 3600 (it's based on VST automation, not midi) but I usually set it to 1000 at most

We have prepared for this event. The Team VR crack was a nice, but not a marvel.

(but please keep me posted if a fix arrives... would like to check that out then)

I think it would be better if we didn't even touch that topic here...

Presets flowing fast with this one. Great what different kind of sounds/timbres you can get with a few tweaks in short time.
A saxophone like timbre:

Some mellow keys with soft distortion:

Nearly the same patch as mellow pad:

Cinebient you share these patches, mate? I'd like that dark brass from previous page, if you don't mind.

These patches are all a bit raw and they still lack more performance settings and fine tuning.
But i will share them all once i get a bunch of it.

If you have paid for it, why does it matter how good the protection is?

It matters because that’s the way commerce works.

No worries. It's a cat and mouse game. We're good at this.

Don't use midi. Use a controller that controls based on automation ID, like a Nektar Panorama, Novation SL, Native Instruments Maschine/Komplete Kontrol or Ableton Push. The NI and Ableton ones are unfortunately only 8 knobs, but the Nektar and Panorama have lots more and buttons. It's two way communication, high resolution. I haven't used regular midi in about 12 years (since the original Novation SL range came out) and wouldn't go back. Though these days I'd probably buy a Nektar Panorama.
