There is usually a big sale in June but probably limited to upgrades, it changes around quite a bit. You might be better off getting a used license for something that is normally eligible for a crossgrade.

There is a second hand licence for Reaktor 5 up for grabs at $65

These Giveaway of the Day applications, I guess those will only work on your current installation? In case you need to re-install your computer at one point, you are not able to re-install the software, right? Can anyone confirm?

From what I understand. you get a full copy of the software. The caveat is that you have to get it and activate your product on the day it is free. I made the mistake of downloading a "freebie" but not installing/activating it until a week later. It was no longer free because I had not activated it timely.

Maybe claiming the serial number is a better term. According to an email I got from Shareware on Sale, who does these giveaways, they are supposed to be full copies with no limitations unless stated in the initial giveaway. So if the giveaway is a one year subscription, it should work for a year with no further cost.

I have downloaded and installed a lot of this kind of free software from sites like GOTD or Shareware on Sale.

There is little problem with it, quite usable, but many of the titles are not so new anymore.

Sometimes instead of a special installer a user is sent to a website link to get a serial. And in that case a user can choose to install the software at a later date, or on a different computer.

I guess that is what I meant. You have to use that link on the day it is free or it is gone.
