But then after giving it some thought I will probably upgrade/crossgrade? from K11 to K12U at the next release for $600. The problem then is that hereafter I must stay with the Ultimate.

Yepper! This is the price I've been waiting for. Thank you NI. Finally.

I can afford to upgrade for $200 every year or so if you keep adding so much value to the package. For me upgrading from 9U to 11U gives me quite a bit more. $200 a year is my max though for a package upgrade. This one is huge so I'll take it!

Now if most companies just limited themselves to $50-$99 per year I'd probably pay it if the value is there. More need to do this.

Anyone know how long this NI sale is on for? Until the end of the month hopefully?

Nevermind, just saw that you can order the product box from the website....

Shipping of the installation disck is free of charge, and much less nerv wrecking option.
But the disck space in the computer is much bigger obstacle for many - Ultimate needs 363 GB of your hard disck.
NI should sell the Ultimate in the plug-and-play external hard disck, not just in the hard disck which id no good for anything else but installation.

As long as they stick with the policy of K2-to-whatever-version being the price to upgrade, I don't think it makes a difference. My update options are showing as K11U from K10U or to K11 from my original version of Komplete.

Not necessarily. I believe that since you are "upgrading" you will still have a license for K11 (standard) in your account. There's no reason that you couldn't also later "update" that to 12 thus giving you the instruments in K11U plus whatever important stuff comes with K12.

I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm thinking about K11U since I'm still on K9 and there is a lot of stuff in U that I want, but, I doubt very seriously that K12U will tempt me at all. It's all about that marginal additional value you know.
