ok but I genuinely was not joking. I think it should be considered. How about this:
Zebra now has a dark horizontal band accross the top and bottom. The centre band has light coloured panels. So your attention is drawn to the centre section.
The new design has lighter and darker blocks sort of unevenly distributed accross the UI. There aren't 3 distinct bands so your eye is not drawn to the centre.

Good. Because maybe the center wasn't as important as the old skin made it out to be.spunkmuffin wrote:There aren't 3 distinct bands so your eye is not drawn to the centre.

ok how's this:
Looking at the current Zebra 2, it kind of looks like a stage. Like when you see a play or an opera. The bottom quarter of the UI is dark. It looks like the raised floor of a stage. Then there is the lighted centre section. The panels in this section are like actors. They are even illuminated from above (the panels have modulated lighting). Even the striped background kind of looks like draped curtains. Then across the top sixth of the UI there is another dark band, just like in a real theater. So the UI kind of invites and directs you to play with the actors on a central stage.
In the new UI you dont get that feeling of a stage. The top and bottom panels are mostly light, not dark. The central stage section is not illuminated, it's kind of dark or neutral in tone. The centre-stage illusion is further broken up by 4 thin verticals (the 2 side panels and the thin verticals of the central panel border). It looks more like a set of containers or cells rather than an open stage.

I'm trying to be patient, but I'm not going to discuss "synthesizers that look like opera stages". You wouldn't ask a surgeon how to pull nose hair, would you?

Hah! Finally somebody noticed!vvilms wrote:Side Note: I'm watching Zimmer's masterclass atm, and I'm quite envious that he has access (via ZebraHZ) to twice as many MSEG's and twice as many Mod Matrix slots.

Nothing. Just wait it out until Zebra 2.8 comes out + the time we need to upgrade TDZ as well, maybe a few weeks.vvilms wrote:what must I pay? -droops head-Urs wrote:Hah! Ok. =) Thanks for always being so quick to respond to these sorts of things. Gives me warm and fuzzies. -nod-Urs wrote:Nothing. That is gonna be great! Any hope that Diva filters will be housed individually rather than in a single pane, at last...? You did say you were working on new UI elements... so perhaps updating the grid to support more modules is a part of it?Urs wrote:Nothing. Any chance this will give ZebraHZ the ability to do filter FM on the Diva filters?Urs wrote:might be... it needs to be done...EvilDragon wrote:That is gonna be great!
