It's an older Waves emulation, over 6 years old. IMO, Waves' emulations weren't as good back then as they are now.ghettosynth wrote:Must be my aging ears, but, I'm just not blown away by the demos of this thing. I have a bunch of exciters, and I think that I should just pass on this.

Demo yourself, if you like it, it's yours, if not, just pass it.
I demoed waves aphex quiet intensively. And i found that if i use it properly (usually send/return) it is very good at making vocal shining. Also it has good aliasing property.(better than my h-eq).
Remember, you have to understand its machanism and diagram of signal flow.
And i found that most demo on youtube sucks.. (inc. Protools expert. Usually protools expert's review is very helpful.)
try it yourself. See if you like it.
It is insane deal imo, i grabbed it immediately when the deal is out.

Yeah, thanks, I'm definitely not feeling it on an insert. That said, it is noticeably different than my other exciters and high frequency soundgooderizers.nicksohn wrote:Demo yourself, if you like it, it's yours, if not, just pass it.

I definitely feel my own personal plugin iceage coming on strong again.

I'm assuming that this doesn't generate midi on the fly while it's playing, no? You have to export the midi in order to use the patterns with other drum machines, right?brotherjake wrote:Word!OneOfManyPauls wrote:I'd also add the individual drum layering (2 x sample + 1 x tone on BD + SDs / 3 x sample on the rest) and multiple-outs (1 for each drum) within the free UVI workstation as being significant improvements.
Obviously it won't appeal to everyone, but this is a huge step up in utility over the original BBA for not a lot of money if taking advantage of the intro upgrade price.
Also, there's the midi-based sequencer as well, with mix and match of individual midi elements as well as the "render to midi". Worth the $49. But "worth it" is relative for sure.
Trying to explain this to my wife will be strange- there's a chance that she'll not have the same resounding "hell yea!" that I had when seeing the upgrade pricing
Does anyone know of any other drum sequencers that have really fast part/pattern auditioning/construction? The RS7000 works this way and it's really useful and I haven't found anything in software that comes close. If this thing generated midi on the fly it would almost be worth it for that feature alone.
U/I matters a lot here. I'm really wanting something that's fast and tight for generating midi patterns. I'd really like it if it allowed you to load a part and then shift that part back and forth in time easily in very small timing increments. I'd like to be able to quickly scroll through different part patterns while a groove is playing. Even better if any pattern that I create can be quickly saved as a new partern
To be clear, I specifically mean patterns for individual parts, not the entire groove. I want to be able to quickly roll though, for example, different hi/hat patterns while a groove is playing.

yeah, you "generate" the midi then drag and drop it into your DAW.I'm assuming that this doesn't generate midi on the fly while it's playing, no? You have to export the midi in order to use the patterns with other drum machines, right?

I have Kaleidoscope and that brings Breeze down to $24.95. I need another reverb like I need the flu, but that is really tempting.plexuss wrote:During the Big Splash Sale double discounts are currently available for all existing 2CAudio customers who would like to add to their reverb collection. The Overview video might be of interest to you, as it demos the midi/pattern-element change and export: https://www.uvi.net/beatbox-anthology-ii.htmlghettosynth wrote:

Yeah thanks, I watched it. UVI seems to do some of the U/I aspects of things really well. I would never buy these samples alone as I have so many like that already, but, this product is somewhat interesting to me because of those features. I just really wished that it generated midi while playing.brotherjake wrote:The Overview video might be of interest to you, as it demos the midi/pattern-element change and export: https://www.uvi.net/beatbox-anthology-ii.htmlghettosynth wrote:

Then it should mean there's no usual price here for this productDip200 wrote:Does anyone know the usual 2nd hand price of softube CL-1B here at KVR ? I can't find anything via the forum search.

Softtube has 50% sales once in a while. The lowest sales price is usually a good estimate for the market value.Dip200 wrote:Of course, the search just goes back like 2 or 3 months plus a lot of people delete prices and entries immediately after sale.

I actually agree with you. It's not great. Very digital and limited with no lowend-mid. I passed. Even at $22 I couldn't bring myself to get it.ghettosynth wrote:Must be my aging ears, but, I'm just not blown away by the demos of this thing.
