L2 is a classic but no oversampling on a brickwall limiter = ouch

Check out the Venomode 'Maximal 2' currently on sale :)

They really need to put their plugins at $50 for the majority of them and $99 for the bigger ones. And still offer discount coupons. I've got an Apollo Twin Duo and a bunch of plugins already. But am starting to see that I don't want to be tied to their platform's limited DSP as the years go by and CPUs continue to climb in native power and ram.
$50 or less for their older plugins. Many of them are over 10 years old and haven't had their algorithms updated in all that time.

Really like their Pivot M/S tilt EQ - found it really good for bringing out elements in the mix that were virtually inaudible due to being masked by other sounds. It's got just enough controls to get what you want easily. Picked it up for about £19 last Black Friday.

Then again, FabFilter is out of this world. Like Zynaptiq.
Did I miss something? Still no fabfilter sale right? Yeah gotta agree, since I trialed some of their fx recently Im now on a quest to get most of their plugins, they are just in a class of their own :)

I don't want to turn this into UA bashing but valid cristism is warranted and I say this as someone with umpteen UAD-1 and UAD -2 cards ... they don't update their user interfaces unless a partnership comes to an end ... the user interfaces on their older plugins are tiny on 2k monitors and microscopic on 4k monitors.

To their credit some of their stuff is still best in class and worth the asking price especially with the sales and coupons... So I have a lot of love for UA (hardware too) but they need to realign to the software market and maybe invest in the old plugins , update them and don't charge $100 bucks upgrade fee for the privilage of hearing a bit of newly minted harmonic distortion in a MK II edition. I think their customers deserve that.

Watch out for their bundle sales. And maybe start with the newest FabFilter Essentials bundle, as it includes Pro-R, Pro-C2 and Pro-Q2.

I started a while back with a custom bundle, Pro-Q2, Volcano2, Timeless2 and Saturn  Once you're a customer, there's also a way to make more custom bundles.

What are the discounts like on bundles after you've become a customer? Been contemplating buying the FX bundle once it goes on summer sale. Just didn't know if the savings would be more substantial by buying less the first time, and then waiting to add the remaining later.

Post

The discounts get deeper the more of their stuff you own up to around 40 per cent off (outside of a sale). Typically, during a sale, they provide a bigger discount (another 10 per cent or so IIRC).

I think its something like 10-15% off the first plug and then the same general rules as the normal bundles, for each you add you get an increasing % off

Awesome! Thanks for the info Gamma-UT and mrj1nx! Much appreciated. :D

Actually I was wrong, it's better, 25% off for the first plugin, next one 40% off and then 5% increments up to 60%. They are ordered by price so the most expensive becomes the 25% off etc.. Anyways, obviously you want to pick them off in large numbers at a time for maximum efficiency.

Post

Just one thing on custom bundles - if you want to sell, they need to be sold as bundles, which could make them harder to shift unless you find a buyer who wants that particular combination.
