Firs of all ACE is great!

Next... is the following CPU usage normal for this patch?
Intel Q6600 2.4GHz CPU, Just one instance of Ace in REAPER, nothing else.

Voices - many
Quality - good
Buffer size - 128 (but increasing it doesn't help)

If I use the standard quality setting, then crackling goes away and it's usable.

Yep, that is pretty normal. The very long release on the amp envelope means ACE has to keep more voices than you think active. Your notes there have quite a few changes before the sustained chord meaning they're still being processed as a voice. If you are using this as a lead you might consider shaving off a tiny bit of time off the release of the sound (both amp and filter). It'll help the CPU usage a bit but does change the sound of course. Your best bet is to set it to accurate and freeze the track. ;)

OK, thanks for the answer.
I'll have to get used to freezing/rendering then.
The "spaghetti" code ACE-s are sold probably by now already?

Yes... last x-mas kind of killed them...

ACE is not $85. Is about $2585! Why?

I need a new PC just for it. But... I LOVE IT!!!

Hey liquidsound welcome! ACE is amazing. Sure it eats up a little CPU. Who cares? The sound is what we're all after, right?

Right!
In the meantime I am wearing a couple of blankets due to the "Freezing" I need to do to my tracks in order to keep going with it.
I am using the demo of course because I am still deciding on a new XP or Windows 7 and I will get them together.

Thank you "loquat" for your welcome!
I am still busy moving all I have to MuLab 3 (Reason, FL, XT etc.) and I am planning to get rid of several synths by using ACE. So one thing at the time.

The way u-he is going I am afraid he will end up like the old AT&T: government intervention due to potential Synth MONOPOLY! :hihi:

Wonderful gang in this forum lead by a top notch developer.

I am beginning to make all my music choices based on the Developer/Product  vs Product/Developer :box: and, of course, the choices are much less but the rewards are greater. I did the same thing with MuLab, Jo is there every single day to improve the product and we spent months on v3.

With u-he we are very fortunate because his stuff is freaking outstanding!

I'll be back soon. My next goal beside composing music is to learn Sound Design with my Zebra 2.5. It is a shame to own a Ferrari and don't know how to drive it....

I completely agree, indeed I'm supporting Wusik, U-he, Rayzoon and Reaper. Completely rewarding choice!

I tried Reaper as much as I can but the Midi editor is not as refined as in XT or Mulab but they're doing a great job definitely worth supporting.
Imagine a Daw by u-he  ..............

LOVE the sound of this VSTi! It is in my (short) list of synths that approach/surpass analog. Thank you for such an accessible price point... and the resizing? Brilliant!

This might not be the time/place for feedback,
so I made this look like a signature; but what
is the feasibility of an accompanying VST module
that can route audio from another track INTO ACE?

I've been away for a while but when I was lookin for new vsti's people pointed me to Synlen1 cos it was "analogue" and "like a virus". I also tried out Ace at the same time.

No doubt Ace is far superior, while theres nothing wrong with Synlen1, it just trys too much to be a tranceomatic and thats exactly what it is, it does not sound analogue to me, only what people perceive as analogue.

Now Ace to me sounds analogue, like something from the 70s. It actually sounds like the electricity is starting at one end and coming out the other end somewhere. The sounds appear to be flowing and moving through a set of modules, which is exactly how it should be and is. Most other synths sound like they have processes applied at each stage, rather that a few flowing moving momentum of electricity.

Yeah fer sure, its the most analogue synth i've heard thats vsti.
