Linux public beta (4408)

Greetings,
A quick note re: Linux u-he and Tracktion : As others have noted, Tracktion resizes the plugins and truncates a portion of the display. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but when Tracktion opens Zebralette it opens to the full GUI and then lops off the bottom part, which leads me to believe that Tracktion is doing something funky.
Tested with the latest Tracktion Linux release and the latest u-he releases.
Best,
dp

I'm waiting to hear from them. I sent a report with a screenshot to clarify what's happening.abique wrote: Yes it seems like a Tracktion issue, what do their support say?

Hey!
Good news, I did update the installers to the latest revision and added Hive!
Go to the first page.
The update also brings a workaround for Renoise: http://forum.renoise.com/index.php/topi ... t-plugins/
I hope you'll enjoy it, and wish you happy holidays

When you are quiet in the forum, it is like a stirring in The Force

Whoah!
abique dropped the z-bomb and other goodies whilst I was on holiday. I've only had chance to flick through the Zebralette presets so far (nevermind try Zebra2, Hive, Diva etc) but I'm deliriously happy with how good zebralette sounds and you can count on me buying at least zebra2 in the near future after I've recovered from my holiday and Christmas wallet-damage frenzy.
As has already been reported, the zebralette UI is displayed without the bottom row of controls being visible until you resize its window under Linux Tracktion 5.3.16. I've also had most of the plugin UI become obscured by a black square on one occasion but I only had to close/re-open the window to fix that so thats prob not going to be a big issue.
Is there any chance of ZebraCM getting updated with a Linux build eventually?
Tracktion + Zebralette under Linux is a lot of DAW, music-making power for free! Unrivalled, I think.
Big thanks to Urs, abique and all at U-he for an early xmas present!

Hey abique,
its me again. I captured my screen with the very latest ardour git built, and presenting you some pastebin links. Maybe it helps you to help me to get the plug-ins run with Ardour?!
Youtube:
Terminal Out from Ardour: http://pastebin.com/hFPrECrg
Uhbik.64.so.err Output: http://pastebin.com/dtDta5Qp
Does it help you?

I'm away until the 29.
I saw this error:
So from what I saw on your video, I'd tell you that your custom vst pathes in ardour seems wrong. You just need one: ~/.vst/u-he. Or if Ardour scans recursively, ~/.vst; which seems to be the case as you got some logs for Ubhik.
Good luck!
I saw this error:
Which means that you should install xdg-user-dirs. Your distribution probably has a package for it, otherwise the homepage is here: http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/xdg-user-dirssh: xdg-user-dir: command not found

Sorry to spam this thread but I've just spent the last hour playing with Diva. Yeah, it is a bit of a CPU hog but its well worth it and I have to buy that now too as I can't believe some of the sounds it produces! It's so warm and analogue like.
I dunno if I can let myself try any more now as I already want zebra2 and diva and know I'll want to buy them all if I try any more and I don't have the funds for all the u-he plugins, yet. I just wanted to post again to emphasize I'm so very impressed and grateful - it's very much a big deal to have u-he supporting Linux!

You should give a try to Bazille as welldanboid wrote:Sorry to spam this thread but I've just spent the last hour playing with Diva. Yeah, it is a bit of a CPU hog but its well worth it and I have to buy that now too as I can't believe some of the sounds it produces! It's so warm and analogue like.

Diva sounds fantastic! You can not only spend money on it, but a LOT of time playing and having fun with it
