C'mon Eric- GET OUT OF BED AND TELL US SOMETHING!!! I really am hoping for some advanced synth. Please no guitar or vocals.....unless it is the best Children's Choir library ever produced. Other than a Children's Choir or an advanced Synth, I will be disappointed.

That thought crossed my mind, but there doesn't seem to be as big a demand for that as there was years ago. Then again, the project was started 10 years ago, so maybe? My money's still on a virtual guitar instrument.Gosh wrote:is a world instrument unlikely? think hearts of asia, hearts of africa, vocal planet etc. as a vsti.

I'm guessing a vocal playback engine...some sort of massive, flexible voice instrument....

I took my money off that when Eric said "nope" to it on FB...cryophonik wrote:My money's still on a virtual guitar instrument.

Just a final adieu re. Guitar. Eric said in an interview a while back that one product has been 17 years in development so far, never mind any of this Johnny-come-lately 10 year stuff. That might tie in with HZ guitars? Started to do a sequel of some sort... things snowballed... 17 years later... sure it will appear one day.

If i can finally "sing" like i want in a non robot style i would be happy with it.
In the meantime ROLI has acquired FXpansion....interesting too...(but out of topic)....
Damn...it´s a much bigger secret than the freaking iPhone 7!

Why wouldn't the new release be something entirely new or just a major upgrade to Omnisphere? It makes no sense it would be a vocal library. Choir maybe but do we want jazz and choir and tuvans and gospel when we already have it? I didn't read about what isn't being released but I most want a major upgrade or lot's of new patches. The symphony of voices soundset that spectrasonics originally released as an akai disc set is already available in a higher quality re-mastered 24 bit form. Bizarre Guitars and also another Spectrasonics release are already included from previous Spectrasonics releases also. In ways the Bizarre Guitars and "other" release are like soundfonts compared to better synth sounds when played at non octaves up or down pitches but some people like octave +/- beds. They are so good at designing the sounds but they're not very good for composing they're just nice to listen to with one pitch or note. Some styles of the past don't rely on full 7 note octaved scales but.... maybe it would be really nice to release the soundscape type sounds Omni has that are one note beds in more of a multi component/individual matching sound kit fashion. Just a recomendation.
They have things like fully effected synths with bubbly arps going on for some one note things and cool chordal things that don't work with multi notes and guitar beds that really don't work with multi notes. Not satisfying but very inspirational to a degree, yet hard to duplicate for the non professional. I'd like to see some of the one note wonder things in multi component kit fashion and better arp functions also + more pads and soundscapes of all sorts and a wider range of effect chain preset's to mix and match with in Omnisphere and maybe some stuff up the same road as Absynth and U-He synths if they could manage it with the lush perfect analog style tuning of U-He synths and the unique microtonal and organic character of Absynth. So perfect would Omnisphere be for me if they came out with the stuff I mentioned in plentiful amounts.

I'm switching away from an actual Stylus to a fancy 4 slice toaster with analog circuitry to toast bread in a non-linear manner. Would have a slider on the face of the toaster labeled 'Saturation' and, once fully heated, will hum the theme to Doctor Who while toasting.

Omnisphere does a lot of things, by that logic, they've pretty much covered everythingAryaroman wrote:Yes, but Omnisphere covers a lot of that, especially after the 2.0 update.Tet-64 wrote:Seems like they would just need some kind of vocal synth, then they would a have a full band

it's been stuck on one day for over 24 hours.
BTW
How may hours are there in a "typical" day?
Will there be an hourly countdown?
