They DO, and I intend to be grabbing one as soon as available!

Yes, Tangerine Dream used it in the 70’s. That’s where I know it from. But hey, what did they not use?Shabdahbriah wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 6:56 pmI'm reasonably 'synth (history) literate', and I do not recall ever hearing about this synth.ChamomileShark wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 5:47 pm Very odd. Hands up those of you that had been hoping for this to be revived, or even knew of it's existance..
Maybe if you are in a Tangerine Dream cover/tribute band and want to be very authentic? Do such bands even exist?zerocrossing wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 9:45 pm This has got to be a joke, right? Is anyone going to buy this for $10K?![]()

Possibly, but from posts I've seen even TD fans found it hard to spot. I suspect TD quickly moved on from it, basically it was something to take the place of a MiniMoog for the German/ European market. His modular was also Moog like I understand.

Regarding the price. It looks like it includes VAT. So the actual price is more like 8000€. For a rare synth that stays rare if they really just produce 100 pieces it's still expensive but somewhat aligned with high second-hand market prices for some synths.

If you hate Behringer, getting one of these will make your statementmi-os wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 10:03 pm Maybe it's hand soldered through hole components. This is just the other end of the spectrum vs Behringer.
Current TD is basically a TD tribute bandAlbert.VST wrote: Wed May 07, 2025 7:46 am Maybe if you are in a Tangerine Dream cover/tribute band and want to be very authentic? Do such bands even exist?
So, it is actually a collector's itemmi-os wrote: Wed May 07, 2025 12:09 pm For a rare synth that stays rare if they really just produce 100 pieces it's still expensive but somewhat aligned with high second-hand market prices for some synths.

If they move the decimal over one to the left, I'll think about it.beely wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 9:47 pmThey're only making 102 of them apparently, so get in with your 5K non-refundable pre-order deposit quick!zerocrossing wrote: Tue May 06, 2025 9:45 pm This has got to be a joke, right? Will this be like the Moog Minimoog reissues which was limited because of parts, and then restarted with the "Walnut" edition and then became permanent again?mi-os wrote: Wed May 07, 2025 12:09 pm Regarding the price. Elton John will buy one. So will Trent Reznor and Joel Zimmerman. I'll take two.

Presumably the fact that this was done in conjunction with Brainworx means it won't be long before there is a software version.
"Now you can have a perfect recreation of this super rare collectable synth for the incredible deal price of $199."
Then of course 6 months later it will be $29.

You can't. But the closest thing too it is Tone 2 Icarus 3 or Serum 2 with vowel filters or vocal wave tables. Vital has text-to-wavetable, but that's a paid feature. You may as well save up for Vocaloid.
