Cool, thanks for the answers - I look forward to getting the UHE plug up[dates when the beta is open or they are released...its a bit chicken and egg I guess as you need a DAW available to host CLAP plugs and you need Clap Plugs to test the DAW...great to see UHE and Bitwig working together!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Yeah, that's why it is cool that there is interaction and coordination between Bitwig and U-he.

The per voice ability of Bitwig modulation with U-he synths is going to be a powerful tool for me. For example, I was just exploring ParSeq-8 in per voice mode in Hive! A lot of modulation possibilities just opened up!!

Is there a summary somewhere in user friendly language that describes how CLAP plugins should behave more like native devices in Bitwig?

I doubt it... it is not even officially released and both Bitwig and the u-he synths are in beta. Next week should be the official release of CLAP.

Right now, if I add a modulator, (Env, LFO, Steps, ParSeq-8 or any other Bitwig modulator than can be per voice), there is the same per voice checkbox in the Bitwig inspector as there would be for Bitwig Instruments. Then click on a parameter in say Hive (in the Hive GUI) to make it selected in the Device pane, then modulate it with whatever modulator. It's pretty simple and wow does it open up possibilities!

Surge (latest daily build) will also work with Bitwig's voice stacking. The u-he synths not yet.

Will it be possible to put clap plugins in the grid at some point?

Seems unlikely...

hmm.. whenever I introduce a Note Transpose object in the device chain I get a substantial delay... beta 5

Post

It also happened with other objects, but I was loading a song made with 4.2. Starting a new project and the delays went away.

Did you send in a bug report? beta@bitwig.com

Post

Something is still broken and the plot thickens. Inserting objects like Note Transposer did perform initially well, but as soon a Fabfilter L2 was inserted on the master chain, it went weird meaning audible delays between tracks. De-activated L2 and all was well again. This was never an issue on 4.2

Post

Workaround, I put a dummy Note Transposer at the beginning of the device chain master track and all was well again.

Was just trying the CLAP beta of ACE. Various parameters (like Amp Env Decay, Filter Input Gain, Ring Mod Level, Saw/Pulse Blend, etc.) cannot be modulated directly in ACE, but can now be modulated per voice using Bitwig modulators! So cool! Especially for ACE and Diva, it is like getting a significant plugin update! Very much looking forward to the CLAP version of Bazille and RePro too!

This is some new and unique capability for Bitwig.

Thanks again for the feedback- this feature could put Bitwig on the (more mainstream) map for a number of people (there are certainly a lot of UHE fans). I hope they get some more 'official' information out soon and some YT videos showing it off.

Next week is the official CLAP announcement. It is impressive how quickly it has come together. I assume that is an indicator of the ease of CLAP development.
