Oh, someone is playing the age card to put more weight to their argument. Sorry you felt you had to do that.rezoneight wrote: Wed May 11, 2022 4:28 pmOne of us has been here almost 20 years. So... first off: not everyone making music defaults to a dude. Crazy fact here:
there are women making music too and we also know how to use the internet (shocking, I know!)
Crazy fact here: I call anyone dude. I know women who do the same. Get over yourself already. Maybe try less outrage for a change.
Maybe, just mbe, think about the fact that you call everyone a dude, coz not calling everyone a dude would be a nice thing, so everyone feels welcome when addressed. And no, you haven't yet seen outrage in your 20yrs here obviously, coz that was pretty calm, and I also don't need to get over myself, thank you very much.
I found a nice note from Slynk and their M4L device just moments ago and it feels fitting:
from:For a while, during development, this plugin was called "Duck Boy" but I quickly decided to rename it to "Duck Buddy". The music industry is already so male dominated, so I didn't want to give the plugin a male gender, potentially further alienating the women producers out there. It's a small thing but I think subtle things like this push women away from music production and careers within the music industry. And I think we should be doing everything we can to create a comfortable atmosphere for those women looking to get involved in the music industry. This ain't no boys club.
