Did you download the rev2 library? You HAVE to do that in order to get the new presets.bmanic wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 12:03 amCan't find any. Could you give one exact name for a preset that is version 3.0? It's possible that I'm missing the current up to date Factory Content.ufs file. The only version I see available at my-uvi website portal is 2.8.1.Jac459 wrote: Thu Oct 19, 2023 11:40 pmIt is the ones tagged as "rev2". Just on top or the other factory presets.bmanic wrote: Thu Oct 19, 2023 11:07 pm Also question:
How do you guys find any of the new presets? There should be 1600 new or edited old ones according to the release trailer video. But how on earth do you find them?
And they are awesome by the way.
As I said previously, UVI Portal.app is 100% broken for me. Doesn't work at all.. so I can't download anything that way.

He probably didn't because initially it wasn't available from uvi.net/my-products. It is now. Seems the direct downloads lag behind their download manager as it took a few hours for the Falcon 3 exe to be made available via that page (and even longer for the rev2 content to appear.. )fmr wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 10:29 amDid you download the rev2 library? I have the same issue. I can't use UVI Portal. In my individual downloads there is Falcon 3, which I successfully downloaded, but factory library is the "old" one. I opened ticket in a support.PAK wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 10:42 amHe probably didn't because initially it wasn't available from uvi.net/my-products. It is now. I regret all the problems people are experiencing with UVI Portal. I had my dose of problems with "portals" before (notably the Flux portal, which never worked as it should here - that thing is BAD), but UVI Portal has behaved very well since day one, and I manage all my products through it. I downloaded Falcon 3 and the library yesterday at 17:30 GMT (18:30 CET). I also updated two other products. Everything worked normally and smoothly (frankly, I was expecting problems). I don't know if the direct downloads are faster (maybe they are) but, to me, UVI is fast enough. I usually leave it do its thing while doing something else, and everything works.

I heard from UVI that eg. people from Germany have had download problems for a long time (myself included). They are aware for a long time of this too.fmr wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 11:00 am I regret all the problems people are experiencing with UVI Portal. Probably you live in a country which doesn't have download problems.

Haha, not at all. There's for example the biggest German ISP "Deutsche Telekom" who does not want to invest into routing/connect infrastructure, they want other carriers to pay.fmr wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 11:05 amMaybe that's the casedermage wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 11:04 amI heard from UVI that eg. people from Germany have had download problems for a long time (myself included). Probably you live in a country which doesn't have download problems. But it's surprising that Germany has problems with downloads. I thought your infrastructures were top notch.

This results often in very low download rates eg. from the US until someone pays there.
Possibly UVI uses such a carrier and doesn't want to change to something different (for example Amazon EC). That's of course just my guess, but something needs to change.
Btw. Arturia's servers were also hammered a few days ago when they released a new product.
In the end the question is, why they do not do measurements/performance tests or just scale their download infrastructure for the release day +1.

Surprisingly I had no issue from Singapore...
Last time I checked Germany was nearer from France than South East Asia hehe.

Simon Stockhausen (Patchpool) has stopped me selling Falcon. THIS is the kind of thing that should be in the Factory Library, not synth patches that mostly sound like they're from the late 80s:

I don't think I'm ever going to love Falcon, but if more designers start using it as a fully-featured sampler, starting with well sampled acoustic instruments and then doing tricksy stuff with them, it'll be a useful host.

But the new presets as opposed to the reworked old ones are not tagged in the new rev2 library. I can’t see any way to identify or search for them.fmr wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 10:29 am Did you download the rev2 library? You HAVE to do that in order to get the new presets.

I'm hardly an authority on Falcon, but this one seems pretty simple to me if everything is installed correctly - although clearly UVI Portal has got itself confused over the past 24 hours potentially making that a bit tricky. Here's what you should have (someone correct me if I'm wrong)SHall1000 wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 11:37 amBut the new presets as opposed to the reworked old ones are not tagged in the new rev2 library. FALCON FACTORY
This has everything in it up to 2.8
FALCON FACTORY rev 2
This - somewhat confusingly given the name - ONLY has 3.0 presets
I actually deleted the old .ufs when the Portal wouldn't let me update to 3.0, but you can download it again from the UVI website (not the Portal).
