I wonder if we are far away, nor not too far away, from having the Idea Tool be able to work only upon a defined area of the timeline?

Mate any ideas that will update the idea tool will always have my vote

If you can draw only, that means you are in one of the 'set' modes, when values are set only, but no new points are created.

Please note that the 'paint' tool has several options:
- freehand set: set EXISTING points but don't create new ones
- freehand insert: draw new points, replace existing ones
- line set: set EXISTING points but don't create new ones
- line insert: draw a line/curve, replace existing points
- click to insert and move

For editing 'note on velocity' adding new points is not possible, so only the 'set' options are available. So the tool switches to either 'freehand set' or 'line set' depending on the previous state.

If you right-click on the background or on the 'pencil' icon, you can choose which tool to use.

can't seem to draw in modulation.. it draws, but, on mouse release it's blank..

This seems like a bug, but I was not able to reproduce it. I tried zooming in and out between adding points.

if your phrase is to long and you use the scroll bar in the phrase editor to lengthen the view, then the draw mode stops where it was at the shortest point. You can't draw past that to the new view length.

on the drawing points.. if there arn't any points, maybe not default to that pencil tool as the first choice.. I figured it out, but, it took me a few minutes..

yea, I think it was the wrong or to large a grid size, I can't seem to reproduce that now..

Attila, not sure if you're planning on implementing the midi lean function in midi mutator in this next update. But
could you please update the functionality of the rest variation and the remove note variation with the suggestions below, as this would make them a lot more useful.

But as a last-minute change, this feature won't be in v4.5. Instead I'll build a v4.6 beta version early next week.

Slider improvements: right-click to set center value, Ctrl-click to set minimum value, Ctrl-right-click to set maximum value

might be worth looking into adding this to the sliders in the track header..

It always fascinates me to find out what type of music people are making with RC especially when they have so much input into the development, so it's definitely something that we should talk about as a community. With so many features being added and asked for in RC it's always nice to know how they benefits other uses and how those users use those features.
