These are such a$$hole moves by Waves. I understand the reasoning behind them but it feels sketchy as hell because they didn't make the change before they started coming out with their crazy sales and reeling people in.krabbencutter wrote:
It was just confirmed in the Waves Aduiophiles Facebook Group, that this change was made yesterday. The date has been updated.
it's worse for the people who bought *before* the crazy sales and now have something that not only has had a slashed price imprinted in people's minds, but now there is a *new* fee to sell it!JC_ wrote:These are such a$$hole moves by Waves. Vacuum pro is the only synth that I have that has dual variable slope filters. That combined with the overdrive built into the different modules makes it an excellent pad machine, especially for dark pads. You can get some really nice effects using automation on the filter slope.Gappar wrote:shonky wrote:Uses iLok manager but no physical iLok required. Most of the FX will be of similar quality to what you already have in your DAW imho but a few nice bits in there. Loom can create some nice textures but I find the inability to move the order of modules a bit frustrating when designing sounds. Vacuum Pro can get some good dirty, lofi tones and Hybrid 3 has a good sound but might be a bit too clean for some. Velvet has a good selection of sounds but I don't use it as much as say the electric pianos in Kontakt or Addictive Keys nowadays. The piano and organ are useable but not that versatile.
I think it's a good buy for the money as we're talking less than £10 for each instrument but I've found that as I've expanded my plugin collection, they're no longer what I'd term my "go to" instruments. If you're on a budget, it's worthwhile. If you have money to spare, I'd suggest looking for more versatile and capable instruments. Should be youtube videos for each if you want an idea of their capabilities. Thanks for the answers, guys. I've checked videos and read a little bit about what each of the synths is about. I've also tried the Loom demo.OneOfManyPauls wrote:Loom and vacuum pro are surprisingly good synths imo - well worth downloading the trial versions and giving them a whirl.
The synths do seem interesting (specially the Riser, a synth specifically made for FX and risers) but they don't seem to offer anything interesting that my other VSTs don't offer already.
I think I'll pass, because I don't see having to learn 10 new synths being worth it, and the iLok manager is a bit of a pain in the ass.
Lol I have Platinum and SSL 4000 sitting unused in my account from before they updated to 64bit (which took forever) because I had no interest in paying the WUP again. Now it's cheaper to upgrade to Diamond instead of getting the WUP but if I did that, it would just be buying into the bs yet again. I wish they would look at their practices and adjust things in a respectable manner, instead it feels like they are just trying to coax people into buying their stuff so they can hit them with big fees in the future.OneOfManyPauls wrote:

Can't believe I just said that.
