I've got a €25 voucher for plugin alliance also. PM me. First come first served. All I ask is that you assure me that you have a purchase in mind and will actually use the voucher. I'm about to go offline for the evening, so will PM the code to the first qualified respondent in about 12 hours time.

It was just confirmed in the Waves Aduiophiles Facebook Group, that this change was made yesterday. The date has been updated.
These are such a$$hole moves by Waves. I understand the reasoning behind them but it feels sketchy as hell because they didn't make the change before they started coming out with their crazy sales and reeling people in.

edit: Let me know if I am overreacting. I just find myself frustrated by them yet again.

Only if they kill WUP will I stay in now.

it's worse for the people who bought *before* the crazy sales and now have something that not only has had a slashed price imprinted in people's minds, but now there is a *new* fee to sell it!

Loom can create some nice textures but I find the inability to move the order of modules a bit frustrating when designing sounds. Vacuum Pro can get some good dirty, lofi tones and Hybrid 3 has a good sound but might be a bit too clean for some. Velvet has a good selection of sounds but I don't use it as much as say the electric pianos in Kontakt or Addictive Keys nowadays. The piano and organ are useable but not that versatile.

I think it's a good buy for the money as we're talking less than £10 for each instrument but I've found that as I've expanded my plugin collection, they're no longer what I'd term my "go to" instruments. If you're on a budget, it's worthwhile. If you have money to spare, I'd suggest looking for more versatile and capable instruments. Should be youtube videos for each if you want an idea of their capabilities.

Thanks for the answers, guys. I've checked videos and read a little bit about what each of the synths is about. I've also tried the Loom demo.
The synths do seem interesting (specially the Riser, a synth specifically made for FX and risers) but they don't seem to offer anything interesting that my other VSTs don't offer already.
I think I'll pass, because I don't see having to learn 10 new synths being worth it, and the iLok manager is a bit of a pain in the ass.
Vacuum pro is the only synth that I have that has dual variable slope filters. That combined with the overdrive built into the different modules makes it an excellent pad machine, especially for dark pads. You can get some really nice effects using automation on the filter slope.

I also really like the riser, but I don't really do risers, per se. It's just a nice synth for creating transitions with some motion. Don't underestimate the speed with which you can do this sort of thing, it's faster than with other synths, here, the U/I matters.

Strike is great for electronic drums with an acoustic feel because you can swap the multi-sampled acoustic drums for an electronic sample. Also, you can build patterns that bring in sounds based on the complexity parameter. This makes for nice parameter automation of the drum pattern.

One of my favorite features about velvet is that there are two velocity mapping controls right on the front panel. This makes it really fast to dial in sounds that "play" differently based on the controller that I'm on.

There are several gems in the effects that I use regularly and are unlikely to be in your DAWs effects. For me, it was easily the best valued bargain bundle in my collection and I have a lot of stuff.

Lol I have Platinum and SSL 4000 sitting unused in my account from before they updated to 64bit (which took forever) because I had no interest in paying the WUP again. Now it's cheaper to upgrade to Diamond instead of getting the WUP but if I did that, it would just be buying into the bs yet again. I wish they would look at their practices and adjust things in a respectable manner, instead it feels like they are just trying to coax people into buying their stuff so they can hit them with big fees in the future.

I'm truly thankful for all of the other companies that have come out with great stuff in the past 10+ years who better understand where the industry is at and the mentality of the consumer.

Just bought a cheap Sonivox plugin from jrrshop.com. They didn't mention anywhere in the product description that you need an ilok account (no USB dongle) to authorize that stuff - an absolute no-go for me.
Luckily I just lost a couple dollars but that was my last deal with them.
Once I'm at it .... most likely I'll get rid of all plugins that mess up my hard drives or require something like an authorization manager on my PC, e.g. the Waves stuff. Did anyone notice that their Waves Central eats up almost 250MB disk space? 250MB!!! For what? For those few tasks it's supposed to do? They must be kidding.

Everything in the full AIR Instruments synth & fx package is top-notch stuff. One of the best music software investments I've made.

With the Sonokinetic Flash Sale, it got me thinking about the number of orchestral libraries they have. Does anyone have any thoughts on which are the best (or not somewhat duplicated)? Looking in general, so doesn't have to be a sale item, but I haven't been able to find many comparisons. Thanks in advance for any advice.

They are all quite different. Capriccio and Sotto are two of my favorite. Now is the time to snag Sotto. It is quite inexpensive. I also have Espressivo which offers some nice flavors. I got Ostinato and Vivace last Black Friday as well and was not disappointed.

I want Grosso and Maximo because they offer two different epic kits. Very good stuff that adds some great flavor to your leads.

Haste thee to the VI Control forum and thou wilt find comparisons aplenty.
Or maybe start with Ostinato.
Love that one.

I picked up Percussao de Brasil as it had been on my wish list. Tempted by DaCapo but I don't think I need another full orchestra.

Can't believe I just said that. :hihi:

Even at just $8 for the full Headless Buddah bundle, I am not sure if coffee cup synths are what I am looking for :P
