Thanks! How would you see the comparison of the „smart eq“ module to something like tdr‘s nova ge?Fleer wrote:Sonible frei:raum is one of those smart plugins you just got to love. Like anything from FabFilter or Zynaptiq.
Frei:raum is three plugins in one, actually four, as it also works as a generic EQ, but at the highest level. However, the three creative parts are the ones that are truly magical. The smart:EQ layer creates your ideal mix EQ for you, think iZotope but much better. the proximity:EQ layer solves your mic, room and reverb problems. The incredible entropy:EQ layer separates the pluck from the string sound, or the impact from the harmonic part of your sound.
Absolutely unbelievable.
The only problem was price. Started at $400 for professionals only. Last sale price was $300 and they also sell the three parts individually for $150, so $59 for all three is a no-brainer alright.

Well, is it normal for APD to not send confirmation emails quickly even though they stated that they had already sent an email? This is my first APD order, might be my last. Before you tell me to ask support, I tried that first but their website said that it couldn't be sent right now.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now as my order is recorded in my account, but, it's 2017, slow emails net you a grumpy, possible unnecessary, response on KVR.
Now, get off of my lawn and give me my EQ....damn it!

So Universal Audio sends me a $50 coupon saying: 'use this $50 coupon before November 5th and we'll send you a $25 coupon to use on Black Friday.'
Haha. What? Why would I buy a regular priced $300 plugin with a $50 coupon (nothing on sale at the moment), when I can wait a few weeks and most likely buy the same one for like 50% off, without a coupon.
UA's sales logic sometimes confuses me. After spending over $20K on UAD hardware / software over the years, I sometimes wish they would give some better sales incentives to continue investing in their plugins. Haven't bought anything from them, except two $50 upgrades, in over a year and half. Get the same type of coupons from Plugin Alliance every month, and I've spent like $500 on their stuff. I would be absolutely shocked if, one day, UA sends out a coupon saying "you've invested in our company for years, here's a free plugin". One can dream!

Prior experience is they email you a coupon code that you use at the other company's website to buy the product for "free". It was fairly quick but not a few seconds later - maybe 30 minutes?ghettosynth wrote:epiphaneia wrote:Thanks! It's for new plugins that usually won't be discounted for some time.pixie.army wrote:So Universal Audio sends me a $50 coupon saying: 'use this $50 coupon before November 5th and we'll send you a $25 coupon to use on Black Friday.'

BTW: I have to agree with Fleer that frei:raum is one of those unique plugins that pushes technology and is almost a no-brainer at the $59 price. I seldom break my $20ish/plugin rule, but this was worth it.

Yeh I fell foul of that with the Soundiron deal. I waited & waited for an email but a code was in my account all the time. Don't think I ever did get an email?ghettosynth wrote: ...

I would think its a mistake and now corrected too because the single horizon is half the price as the horizon +restoration +wlm +nls bundle. at $266ish I would of gotten it lol.

Nope, still the same when I check for upgrades.systmu wrote:I would think its a mistake and now corrected too because the single horizon is half the price as the horizon +restoration +wlm +nls bundle. at $266ish I would of gotten it lol.
The thing is that I have Diamond and a handful of other plugins and don't have a use for what I would get in Horizon (+the rest in the bundle) that would even justify the $266 - as crazy as the offer might be

Don't have Nova GE, but the Smart EQ part of Sonible frei:raum is a more elaborate version of iZotope's Neutron EQ, at least that's how I see it. You can also use it as a normal EQ, but the way it helps you to solve your mix is remarkable. And that's only one third of what frei:raum does.epiphaneia wrote:Thanks! Here's the take on frei:raum by SOS. They were... unimpressed... I tend to trust their reviews more than most. YMMV, of course.
