Wow Ms. Sis! - - "Can't Forget" - what a killer tune - Omnidirectionally brilliant! The most killer electric bass I've heard in a long time - big and bold - I wish I had one clue on how you did that? Well, actually, I know one - get a bass player that can make that obtuse turn sound fabulous - very Peter Quaffish to me. Sounds like you cats were in a really expensive studio with a brilliant sound engineer - very analog and natural sounding. Well, like I always say - "I'll never forget that what's-her-name"!

My band, The United Sons of Toil recently released a CD entitled "Hope is not a strategy." The Sons play noisy Midwestern mathrock that harks back to the time when Touch and Go, AmRep, and Dischord lorded over the indie-rock landscape.
Basic tracks were recorded to 1" tape at Coney Island Studios in Madison by Wendy Schneider. Guitar and vocals overdubs, and mixing were done by me in my basement using Tracktion 2. Carl Saff mastered it in Chicago.

I played all the instruments on that track. The vocals are from my writing-partner Sander. The bass has been recorded with an old japanese Fender Squire into a Joemeek VC6Q with heavy compression. In the mastering-process i used Crysonics newB, which is a brilliant plugin imho.
This track was totally bedroom-recorded, by the way

Ok, I got blasted
on Harmony Central for posting a instrumental and for posting a cover on the songwriting forum a while back. And I understand why. I just didnt think about it. So I decided to write a song (with lyrics) so I could post properly in this forum.
Pretty simple. But has a cool vibe to it. As always Im playing all instruments and singing. Its on my Soundclick site. Its called "Song Writing Forum". Link is in signature area. Let me know how my first attempt at lyrics and music comes across.
Lyrics go like this
"Cant find the words"
"For this song"
"To post it on"
"The song writing forum"

Some of the work that I have done with Tracktion 2 is here on my myspace page. I don't have a mic so I do not have vocals on the songs. All the songs are me playing except for the song Days Gone By. That is the entire band. Hope you enjoy and any feedback would be appreciated.

The clip is cool in a depressing mood kind of way
Is it made with flash ?
But the song's too long to my taste.

I'm a huge Tracktion fan and an amateur bedroom musician. I don't have the time for music I wish I had (I'm trying to finish my PhD this year), but I forced myself to put together an album.
All of it done in T2; I use tons of freeware VSTs; Reason 3, Guitar Rig 1, etc.
I had a hard time at the mastering stage; I was pretty much completely at a loss, but I did what I could and it turned out this way. Comments much appreciated.

My first "nearly finished almost done pre-premaster mix" with T3 (I put aside the RonC's demo track remix as the material was more than half given and totally good).
It's a song composed, written and sung by a young (but talented IMHO) french female guitarist/singer (her MySpace) who needed collaboration for demoing and arranging her songs (and ultimately setting up a backing band).
I did the bass, drum programming, keyboards, recording, mixing and stuff, and
It's a non "premastered" mix (ASAIK what premastering is really like) that I would like to put through final mix in a near future.
So before that, I would really like comments/advices on the mix (and eventually what Final Mix preset I can turn to for a start):
Kalamity Jenn - War is over

A new mix of the same song, with the "Acuma CD" preset of final mix.
Any comment appreciated.
