Maybe I need to create a video to explain, but my first answer is ....

Add the MUX to a channel.
Open the multiSampla
Create a Zone
dblClick on the Zone
Browse (FL10) to any Folder that contains WAV files.
Click on a WAV file to preview
drag a WAV file to the empty Sample box. (works for me)
Quick way to set up pre-established Zones.

Note: FLStudio has a global setup for paths (Options>File Settings) that are used frequently - and appear under special names in the browser. e.g. you can set up MUX as a path and then it will appear in the browser making a shortcut to everything MUX.

Also

Open the Basic Synth
Click on OSCILLATOR
Browse to Single cycle WAV files e.g. MUX>App>Library>Waveforms>AKWF
(Preview is lacking on these)
drag a WAV file to the waveform display (works for me)

Note Also MuDrum does not accept dropped files from the browser either.

Ok, i see what you mean.
The problem is with the main plugin window, it doesn't accept the drops, while the sub-windows do. I'm searching for a reason...

Yezzzzz!!
Preview would be nice, but drag/drop from FL Browser is fekkin GOLD!!
Im guessing youll figure out how to make that universal, and that is a nice lil extra that really makes this amazing.
Now all I gotta do is get out of work today....

It turned out to be host dependent for eg in Reaper dropping a wave on eg MuSampla's main window already worked fine. But i think i found the reason why it didn't work in eg FLS. I've uploaded new MUX Vst 1.0.15 packages at http://www.mutools.com/mux/cedar
This new version should accept the drops in any host, including FL Studio.
To experienced users: If you already installed MUX Vst 1.0.14 you can just update the DLL file.

I just made a synth with mux based on 4 charlatans ........... naturally i can use as many modulations as i like with mux's lfo's so no longer limited to only one :D
13 out of 16 knobs used so far. One knob goes from gated envelope to a pad envelope so there's a lot of several things going to one. The one im most proud of is the osc type where i used various tools to make charlatan switch from saw to square and set osc shape form 100% to 50% within the first 1% of the knob. After that the pulse width is modulated more and more.
All this is routed through TyrellN6 chorus. So far all was with freeware. But i had to add a delay and i picked Roundtone from SK Note but a free one could be used.

I really hope Mux becomes a standard for sounddesigners!! Though the knob labels must be sent out to host on load, not only save (as i wrote about earlier) for it to work.

3 wobblydetuned charlatans with 1 split -12 +12 sounds so incredible fat .....
Amazing!!! Thank you Mutools! :D :hail:

Woooo! ++1!:D
I dont even know what to say bout it.
This thing is amazing. And with the FL Browser functionality, its.. a big deal. :)

I was already giddy just clicking and dragging away, then I found MuDrum... :-o
Wtf, outrageous man! :tu:
Thanks a skrillion.

Just to put this to bed ... the drag and drop on samples works perfect now in FLStudio.

Especially good is the ability to work with the MuDrum by browsing first to get the right sound and then testing each pad with effects after dropping the different WAV or OGG files in the slots. Neat!

After chatting with Andreas, he informed me on limitations for creating distortion and lo-fi fx could you add more variation here please.

When saving what exactly?
When saving the host project?
When saving the MUX preset?
But when loading a plugin i only see the standard Gain, para2, para3 etc.
Loading a plugin where exactly?
Can you make it so that the parameter names are sent when loading as well?
FYI: The MUX (or any VST) does not 'send' parameter names, it's the host which requests the parameter names.

Post

Sometimes a kind of automatic volume control limiting the absolute output sent to the DAW would be nice. Not as an effect or sound-shaping tool, but simply to protect the speakers when playing around with modulation and stuff, which sometimes leads to unexpected results almost blowing your speakers away :D

The parameter names gets updated on Maschine when saving the Mux preset. If i load another preset after saving, the old parameter names will still be there on Maschine. If i save that, the new and correct parameters will be visible.
I shall try and see if parameter names (automation names in the host I assume?) updates when loading a preset in Live, Reaper and energyXT.

Does anyone else know a plugin with 'dynamic' automation names I could try?

Anyone with a similar piece of hardware with displays showing parameter names? Please see how/if it works for you! :)

There are new MUX Vst 1.0.16 packages in http://www.mutools.com/mux/cedar/

If you already installed MUX Vst 1.0.12 or up you can just update the DLLs if you want.

What's changed:

* When using VSTs inside the MUX, the VST editor windows stay in front. (just like the MUX editor windows)
* When renaming the top level meta parameters, the VST host is notified.

Post

Alright, with this new version the parameters on Maschine's LCD (and in the software) gets updated on both save and changing parameter name! Now if it only happened when loading a patch.. :) Is it possible to do that?

Post

I tried the parameterthingie in Live and it shows the same behavior as Maschine - the automation names (parameter) updates when saved and when a parameter is renamed (though only that renamed parameter, not the others).

From time to time i've had my host crash when removing an instance of Mux. Is this something you've noticed? It's been too random for me to figure out the cause. It has happened maybe 3-4 times so far.
