The expectations will be very high for spectrasonics. You could be born and entering pre- school since the last installment. For these kids, it's a lifetime. For me, it's like it was yesterday, still way to long.

The thing is, and I've said it before, is that Spectasonics built themselves on a level of trust from their users. I was incredulous that I had to buy Atmosphere, Stylus & Trilogy without any kind of discount.

I've been wrapped up in heavenly swaddled cloth since then.

Lots of great software out there, and everything's to taste, but Spectrasonics always leads somewhere. My only worry is if I can afford it, and whether my spouse will throw up. Three years? Pffft.

How cool would it be if Omnisphere's granular wasn't terrible? Ok that's harsh, but really they should make it much better and more like actual granular synths. It would open up Omni so much. And rather than the the useless visualizer thing, why not a sample waveform visualizer? And also, how about being able to freeze the last sample played as the granular source in order to have more predictable loops points etc. That kind of thing would rock.

Updated Stylus? Sure maybe. The only reason I have that now is because they pulled a fast one with the Stylus expansion and the fine print was that if you bought the expansion, you could never sell Stylus RMX. Not just the expansions couldn't be sold but you couldn't sell your original Stylus RMX! Can you even believe that? I can understand the expansions being NFR but if you pay them more money for this extra new thing then suddenly you can't sell your original product! It really soured me on them. But to be honest not enough to not look forward to new updates to the things I have.

Just wondering, based on past Spectrasonics announcements, are the new products available immediately for order/pre-order or is it one of those "coming soon" type of announcements where the product may not be available for another 6 months?

In past announcements they've given a future date for availability. I think I recall Feb/March availability before, but who knows about this time around.
