I make my own sound banks here. They would be too weird to post up.

I guess those banks are mostly targeted to the warez kiddies - surely all of them have a cracked copy of Sylenth, but no clue how to program the latest 'Big Room Lead' / Brostep wobbler.Kriminal wrote:OutCider wrote:Making every synth sound the same as every other. Thanks sound designers.
Never understood why ppl do that. As soon as a synth is released, certain preset peddlars make the same sounds again.... money for old rope i guess.
That makes total sense. Someone with a cracked copy is absolutely going to buy the presets instead of just pirating them.2ZrgE wrote:I guess those banks are mostly targeted to the warez kiddies - surely all of them have a cracked copy of Sylenth, but no clue how to program the latest 'Big Room Lead' / Brostep wobbler.![]()
That is the reason why Sylenth1 is so popular and respected... not only among trance lovers of course.Synthetic Wav wrote:at 149 euros i would probably save my money and just rebuy a second hand virus for that type of stuff [...] the real deal and not looking back)
So having over 1,000 soundbanks "killed" Sylenth? How, exactly?BBFG# wrote:That's probably what killed it.V0RT3X wrote:And most of the ones I've heard sound the same.mysticvibes wrote:Sylenth has over 1000 sound banks available...
And now they want to tie any contender to the corpse.
I purchased Zebra 8 years ago. Since then it has had 2-3 paid upgrades worth of features added. I received all those updates free of charge. When Zebra 3 comes out, it will finally have a modest upgrade price because it will be a complete re-write.EnGee wrote:At $99 (or $79), it would be a fair price for Hive IMO (although I had a coupon and could have it for such price, but Black Friday has emptied my bank account and I already have Hybrid, so I passed).
At $149 it is light on the CPU but heavy on my pocket! Anyway, for $149 it must be really special like Zebra or Largo (even those I can't think buying them at these prices when I had Z3ta+2 for $50, Massive for $100 and Air Hubrid 3 for about $50) in the discount!!
In the survey (of u-he) I chose the range price between $50 and $100, and that what I can pay for synths or effects bundle really because I'm a poor guy, maybe for some others, $50 doesn't make any difference or the synth itself is targeted for other people (like DJs or Professionals), I really don't know
A cracked Sylenth is always available, for preset packs normally it takes longer to get - that time seems to be enough to make some sales.Gamma-UT wrote:That makes total sense. Stereotypes, eh?
Well, u-he has a very good reputation in every thing. The price is not that high really, but for me I prefer buying, for example (Don't kill me Urs!) Zebra 2 for $100 and then upgrade to Zebra 3 for $50 and then Zebra 4 for additional $50. It is how business is going IMO. I don't want someone to work for free 8 years for me! it is not fair, but I also can't pay in advance for possible free upgrades!pdxindy wrote:
Of course you can measure value as you wish, but for me, it is well worth a bit higher initial cost to get the sort of support and ongoing development (usually free) that u-he offers.
