Using the mouse-wheel you can zoom in/out the level scale.

When looking at the Spectrum Analyser it may look obvious and simple to also do a graphic EQ to alter the spectrum but that's not as simple as it may seem, MuLab will need automatic plugin delay compensation (APDC) before that is possible and that's not yet planned on short term, cause i will first target time-stretching and related aspects. I definitely also want more spectral mu-tools, step by step things will grow further, hope you'll enjoy the new steps these days.

Soon, i'll do my best to make it available this week.
Will it be announced into a dedicated/other thread?

chuckwood wrote:Found a bug. When changing the frequency analyser settings, selecting 'right' causes a crash. All other settings are fine. Is this the case for anyone else? Win 7 64 bit.
Can't immediately repeat it but i'm quite this is related to the other crash bug and thus will also be fixed in the next version.

New M7.4.1 available in http://www.mutools.com/galaxa/mulab

What's new: Improved the new Frequency Spectrum Analyser:
  • Fixed a crash bug when the editor was opened immediately after inserting it, which was the case when inserting it in a rack.
  • Added the option to always see mouse cursor info. (right-click = setup)
  • Finetuned the default level scaling, now defaults to -6 dB at top.
  • Fixed a coloring issue when in showing layered spectra. ("Stereo" channel mode)
How to install:

First make sure you already have installed the complete M7.3 package.

Then:

Windows: Put the new .exe and .id files into the M7.3 installation folder.
MacOS: Put the new .app file into the M7.3 installation folder.

Thank you :tu: :)

Nice, frequency analyser doesn't crash here any more.

Thanks Jo

When cutoff frequency is at its lowest and highest, there seem to be minor graphical glitches, is this normal?

You may need to turn resonance up a bit to see the peak distort at these settings.

Thanks for adding this graphical depiction, makes it easier to understand fully what's happening. Never used peak or notch filters as wasn't too sure which did what. I'm not much of a reader anymore and prefer to see what's going on than spend time reading manuals that are difficult to read.

Hopefully more of this sort of thing will be added.

I know it's already been mentioned that you're going to enhance it, but the suggestion to bed the analyser to the bottom right of mulab is a good idea, it could also show filters as you adjust them, or inter over them. Perhaps that's the plan, but thought I'd mention for what it's worth

M7.4.2 available in http://www.mutools.com/galaxa/mulab

What's new:
  • The Frequency Spectrum Analyser now uses a linear dB level scale.
  • Filter graphs did not have the correct default level zoom. Fixed.
Windows: Put the new .exe and .id files into the M7.3 installation folder.
MacOS: Put the new .app file into the M7.3 installation folder.

Note: Due to changes in the analyser level scale, in existing projects/presets the spectrum analyser will show a different level scale. Simply use the mouse-wheel to correct it to your prefered level scale.

A useful improvement, to clearly visualize very different amplitudes within one window. :tu:
