In fact, overall, I'd say those two synths have more in common than you'd imagine.
These 2 synths are nothing alike...

Personally, I find Aparillo boring... nothing I've heard sounds good. That is a case where I think people praising it is a koolaid thing.

Infinite Pro has a much more capable featureset, including being able to resynthesize user waves. Value is subjective, but Infinite Pro is easily worth 2-3 times what Aparillo costs.
Well, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it.

Doesn't make my opinion wrong.

But according to your math, Infinite Pro is worth between $200 and $300.

Hey, cool. Happy New Year.

I agree. I was not impressed by Aparillo. Then it clicked with me and i love it but again after some time it was just a kind of first wow effect and i find Infinite Pro more interesting and it has more of that high fidelity in the sounds.
Anyway they are so different like a dog and cat. I prefer cats while other like dogs. :D :hihi:

I think you also can import things from Phonem into Infinite Pro.
They want you to get all their stuff :o
Phonem is my favorite of the PPG synths... it can create some very beautiful vocal sounds... and in some cases, surprisingly natural.

I think Aparillo will disappear fast... it's gimmicky and low sound quality. It seems like fun because of the orbit thing...

I find what Wavemapper 2 does with its Map page much more interesting... if only the morph speed could be slower

I have it on my Phone (MiniMapper) and even there it´s quite interesting.
Also PPG tools have all this nice voice per channel modulations and work fine with MPE controllers.
The morph is great. But nothing beats Alchemy here. I just wish every synth would have such a good working snapshot morphing.
The morphing (which is more just a blending) in Aparillo is indeed the thing which wowed me first but transitions are mostly too harsh for my taste.
Infinite morphs so nice. The first synth after Alchemy and Sculpture in which i find it awesome.

Infinite morphs well... Also, since each partial can have a changing pitch, it has something different in the sound...

The only "complaint" I have about Infinite Pro is that it's extremely time consuming to program if you're going to do it justice. There are probably more moving parts to this thing than any other synth I own. And an even bigger "problem" is that one slider out of the dozens can make such a drastic change, you have to be extremely careful with every movement you make with this thing.

Everything comes at a price in this world. The price here is time.

Lots of it.

100% agree here.

One thing that I am surprised about. There is more discussion about this synth here than both Wavemapper and Wavegenerator combined. Go find their threads. I doubt either one made it to page 2.

I'm not saying this is going to be a 60 page thread but maybe one of this guy's synths will finally get the recognition it deserves in this place. Because for whatever reason, he seems to fly a bit under the radar.

Post

Only reason this thread is long is because of the price, short pre sale without communicating it to customers , no demo in the pre sale. It’s probably a good synth but I’m over it because of the above.

^^^ True. Most posts in this thread were trying to just understand this complex synth-- given the little information or time that PPG allowed-- not to celebrate it.
Perhaps Simon can post some of his "spectacular results" from Phonem+Infinite to get this thread on a more positive track

Well, if he doesn't I'm tempted to buy it and do it myself. I'm listening to the demos and this thing is even more intriguing than Infinite. As vocal synths go, this is hands down the best I've heard. Nothing else even comes close.

True. I demoed it but it was not my cup of tea and i like Infinite more but that could be of course a difference for you.
In general i think all PPG synths are fantastic but really complex to program and needs time to get into it.
