Soma,

I think I got it - This does look like it will work - your first example would kind of be an expander of sorts, the second would compress, correct?

Oops, wait a minute - this midi munger thing isn't wrapped as a VST yet is it? It looks like it might just be a SE module.

BTW because the down paramer is a multiplier (0-2), if you set the CC to INV in and INVERT out, you can have up to twice 1200 ms for up (if you intend on having the decay half as long); or you can have very short attacks and still have more than twice very short decays (because you set first knob to what you want the decay to be and then you can get a fraction of that for attack).
The explanation has helped a lot, actually. But yeah, the discrete smoothing amounts for up/down are very useful for better preserving transients in the modulation signal.

Midi munger has been wrapped. You can get it by it's self But I suggest using control front which has a munger built in (along with LFO's etc.)
http://www.asseca.com/nicfit/controlfront.html

As for the rules I posted: Put them both in the munger. The first will squish 0-110 into 10-100 and the second move the top down from 110-127 into 101-115. You can play with the number to make what ever kind of squish you want.

I made a midi switcher:
Here is the thread:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=110505
Here are the files:
Here is the .ext that routs them.
http://home.comcast.net/~soma720/midiswitcher.ext

Here is the plugin:
http://home.comcast.net/~soma720/Soma_Midi_Switcher.dll

Put an instrument under each midi switcher.
when you press c#1 it will switch to the second instrument.
When you press D1 it will switch to the third, etc.
The first (C-1) is always on. (nothing I could do about that actually)

hi ... i tried to convert my ChannelAftertouch-Messages into CC-Values with MidiMungGUI1 ... the problem is, that it seems only able to convert the Value into a CC-Number, not a CC-Value with a dedicated CC-Number...

any way to fix or workaround this ?

Post your munge rule and I'll see...

btw, arent there a NicFit plugin called: Velocity2CC around? i know ive seen it..but cant find it now. i would like to play with that one in eXT. :)

Post

oh, found this: http://asseca-pt.net/nicfit/velonotes2cc.html
different name, but perhaps a updated version?

It has been updated with an option to use a CC to switch and I also made a matching audio switcher.

now i know what that's good for :)

Soma - with your Midi Switcher plug-in can you make the interface a little larger so you can set the RCh option?

Also what CC do you use when selecting that option and is it value 1 - 12 on the given CC? Sorry if that's a really dumb question.

Caleb
Happiness is the hidden behind the obvious.

Post

Caleb Sure,.
Here: Audio and midi switchers have been supersized:
http://home.comcast.net/~soma720/Soma_Midi_Switcher.dll
http://home.comcast.net/~soma720/Soma_A ... itcher.dll
And the router template:
http://home.comcast.net/~soma720/midiswitcher.ext

BTW anyone suggest a good change process? I've just been updating the files without changing the .dll name because I figure no one is super attached to it yet but people seem to be using them so... I'd like to make sure there aren't a million versions of the same .dll floating around (for compatibility reasons). And yet I seem to be updating my latest plugs a few times a day.
[edit a bad link, spelling, + router, etc]

You can use any CC you want and it's value is from 0-127. Do you think 1-12 would be better? I think that would be hard to do with a knob, and notes work better with a sequencer. If they are all using the same CC, you can look at the red dots on one of the instances to see what output you are sending to. Also you can set the output of each one to 12 and assign a differnt CC to each plugin. That way you can assign a button, switch or knob for each output as an on/off switch.

This is a great thread! :D

Can nF_CC_MOD_Ldev be modulated externally? Because I want to modulate it's pitch by an envelope. I don't know if I've missed anything but I don't appear to be able to do that.

Keep up the great work everyone, especially NicFit.
