Can any Bidule users familiar with the Midi Switcher recommend a plug in that does the same thing? I could really use one within Ext.
Thanks in advance.

Basically, a midi switcher allows me to switch between plugs as if they were each on a seperate MIDI channel. The difference is they are on the SAME midi channel. Think of it like the seq comp when you switch between tracks- Midinotes/cc only affect the selected track.

What would be your ideal use for it? Maybe I can make one.
If you don't need it to be automateble, you just load an XT with a sequencer onto a track and change the audition track in the VST hosted sequencer.
Make sense?
XT main

Seq

XTe

Seq.........X(seleted)
|............|................|
trk1........trk2..............trk3
inst1......inst2.............inst3

it is for live purposes. I have say a few instances of LiveSlice where my qwerty keys are assigned to trigger arrangements but i want them to affect only one liveslice at a time. The switcher allows me to do this.
The switcher itself can be assigned for midi control so switching between liveslice plugs is quick. SO needless to say, if deisred, i can also automate.
The above IE makes sense but for my purposes, it would be alot easier and quicker to utilize a switcher.

I posted an SE switcher plug some time ago. I'm pretty sure it worked just fine, but I can't remember why I stopped using it.

Hi Piranha.
TBH, i don't see how the CC switchbox
works for my purposes. It seems a lot more involved even though it does lool like a useful plug. I'll keep it just in case
With Bidule's switcher, it is identical to a channel splitter in that it has 16 outs (but it would be nice to have the option for custom outputs). It splits plug(s) as if they were in seperate MIDI channels even though they are on one midi channel. With Bidule's switcher, you can r.click the switcher, select a specific output and assign it to a CC/note. I have ten keypads on my midi controller so i switch between plugs by triggering the keypads. It is really simple. I just thought it would be nice to use one app (EXT) for writing and live purposes. For what I do, a swithcer plug would allow me to use Ext for live purposes.

Ck has a module for SE that does this. i could wrap it up for you.
I'll make something where one octave switches the midi port you output to and ther rest of the midi goes to that port.
How many outputs do you want?

Hmmm.... I made it in SE but SE will only let me build a plugin with one midi out port
Oh well here is what it my failed attempt.

Agree, we should have more modular modules...

Ah ok I did it. But I have one instance of the switcher for each key.
Here is the .ext that routs them.

Here is the plugin again:

Put a live slice under each midi switcher.
when you press c#1 it will switch to the second live slice.
when you press D1 it will switch to the third, etc.
The first (C-1) is always on. (nothing I could do about that actually)

SOma, Nice on the plug!!!
A small BR: I made a setup where i had different soft synths set to each switcher. If i make any switches while playing, the synth would sound continually.
So say i have Godkiller on C# and switch to MDA piano on D, Godkiller would sound indefinitely until i turn off the plug. Anyway to fix this?
Other than that, thanks for this plug!!!
Oh, and what are the possibilities of assigning CCs to trigger between each instance instead of using notes? I prefer to have the pads on my controller setup to do the switching.
Sorry for the FR....believe me...i really appreciate what you have done already so don't feel obligated

That's the Note off on change parameter. If you set that to no, then you should be able to hold a key, switch and the note will suspend. (To turn it off you have to hold it down when you switch back and then let it go.... Perhaps I can fix that later, I'm trying to finish something big first.)
See if that works for you. Let me know.

Oops! you want it to NOT sound indef. Then turn the note off on chage to yes.
I'll add an option for CC's or notes that should be easy.
How did you want the CC's to work? An assignable CC per instance that maps 0-127 to 1-12?
