Additive oscillator amound and display of harmonics in Zebra might look better if there would be some scaling/zoom or number choice like in Ableton Operator.

That's one of the many improvements we'll put into Zebra 3...david.beholder wrote:Additive oscillator amound and display of harmonics in Zebra might look better if there would be some scaling/zoom or number choice like in Ableton Operator.

Hi Urs,
I have an improvement idea that's not about the software but your documentation.
I think it would be hugely appreciated if you created a document, or include info in your individual product manuals about sound design.
I am reading the Rolland fantom g tweakbook and applying it as well as I can to zebra2 and in years of learning about sound design, this has been the most productive thing I've ever read on the subject and has inspired me to make my own sounds more than anything else has. I think that this addition to your documentation would make your products hugely more accessible to the users and the tweakook is I think a great model. One thing I like is that it dedicates only a couple of pages at most to all the foundational stuff about shapes, frequencies etc. which you will read a million times over in other books writen about sound design and goes straight into really usefull patch examples that provide a great foundation for further patch tweaking.
Although this book's great, it would be fantastic if it related directly to my favorite synths which are your own, especially Zebra2 and maybe could be done by someone like Howard Scarr who has done these sorts of introductory manuals before like the virus ones.

also, isn't there something that can be done to lower the CPU hit a tiny bit more? (I tend to use Presswerk only on the master channel since it's one of the most CPU intensive compressors in my toolbox
For example: sometimes, simple'n'clean compression is desired and I assume that saturation takes quite a bit... so I suggest disabling the saturation completely if the amount parameter is set to minimum.

yea, would be nice to be able to deactivate some features for a light presswerk. Like saturation or sidechain. If that would help.

This thing might really improve your cpu consumption. It's a bit more expensive then Korg Volca, but cheaper than Roland Boutique.
Have you ever tried it?

Funny you should mention that - I'm currently writing a "Bazille Cookbook".minimaltom wrote:I think it would be hugely appreciated if you created a document, or include info in your individual product manuals about sound design.

Urs , is there any chance of adding a loop mode for the envelopes in Hive ?

Not sure yet. I might be fine with the idea as long as people don't begin to search for a host sync parameter (that's why we only let envs retrigger by LFOs)brick wrote:Urs , is there any chance of adding a loop mode for the envelopes in Hive ?
