of a 200GB library. That is hundreds of mouse clicks.
If you install things when you will actually use them,
it won't seem so tedious. Do you really need the tuba, contra bass, xylophone and bassoon the very first session? I think I'd install
those a week from next tuesday, and install some pianos, synths,
drums, plus a guitar and a bass to get things rolling. etc

Someday soon, an install script should be able to manage
a bunch of archives in a single folder, and allow customers
to edit the location paths as desired before running the script.
There also should be both 'select all', and user-choice options.
Linux package managers handle such tasks every day
for thousands of users, so it can't be _that_ hard :dog:

I did not download everything.166 GB.You never know what you will need.
I like the new ST4 synths.

I can't find any demo possibilities in my account or anywhere else. Any hint is welcome.

I don't believe that there is a demo or trial of v4.

With version 3, there was the free SampleTank 3 CS (Custom Shop), but that appears to have been discontinued.

I wonder if they will have a Black Friday deal for upgrades. I wouldn't mind going from ST3 to ST4. :)

Post

There are a plethora of various Sampletank 3 level hardware and
software bundles, at another plethora of retailers both online,
and brick & mortar. My guess is, that when all these deals are
finally sorted out, there will be an ST4 Custom Shop version,
along the lines of those made for Amplitube and ST3.

Strictly a wild guess ! :hyper: :dog: :hyper: !

After getting a sweet deal on SampleTank 4 SE,
I purchased SampleTank 4 Max as part of a bundle, knowing there is
a dancing elephant in the corner, wearing a shirt that says
'SampleTank 3 Sounds Good Enough For Me'. Not to mention the still
excellent SonikSynth 2, SampleMoog etc and hosts of ST 2.5 libraries in
various shops and on many hard drives.

Demo seekers may need to trust the many videos and reviews
covering SampleTank 4. I think the new usefullness
of the ST4 toolset and effects, are as $$$ valuable $$$
as the new sounds, and improvements in sound.
Cheers

My guess is that they will need to do that at some point. I would never have jumped on ST3 if the free custom shop had not been available.

That is also the reason that I have stayed away from Omnisphere, as good as it is reported to be. No demo!

Right now the upgrade to ST4 from ST3 is $139.
I can wait, but I would go for it at $99.

Post

I just noticed with my Jam Points I can upgrade to ST4 for $99. Would it be worth waiting to see if there is a sale for Black Friday?

The SampleTank 4 Upgrade is normally $/€199.99, but until Nov 5th it's $/€139.99 (and it would be $99 with my Jam Points). I'm not sure if they will drop the price more than that. (?)
