I think that last year there seemed to be a lot more deals out there from the beginning of the month. Had a bit more spare cash this year so have bought a fair amount of kit (and probably need to downsize and sell a few bits if I'm honest) and so there's not a lot that I really need or want at the moment. Bought Komplete yesterday and may buy a few Softube Modular add-ons but not sure there's much else I'm in the market for at present.

Exactly my impression!

So, for a short while you could get NOVO from PB for $275 instead of the "regular" sales price of $379. That seems to have been a pricing error because they removed that today. I was planning on picking that up for $275 later this month but at $379 I'll pass. Not sure if I should be disappointed about missing that opportunity or happy about saving $275. :)
Yeah, I already put all (!) their newer items in the shopping basket while at work, planning to process the basket after work... likewise, I would have spent a fortune "just because", and now I´ll just be going for Novo Intimate Textures. I reckon "good for my wallet" is the best sentiment here :hihi:

the days of spending money is over. (for me) ......50 dollars is too much (I am Canadian ) I have too much stuff anyway and paid a ton...got rid of Cubase because of expensive upgrades for stuff that should have been fixed in the beginning.......,UAD just spams with every update where you have accept all demos whether you want them or not, an absolutely painful thing......just my thoughts.....I am done.....cheers and see you in the funny papers traz

Drummic'a is really quite good and worth getting if you only have Kontakt. IMO, the Abbey Road drumkits in Komplete are far better though.
For a Komplete Noob (puns!), how do you think the NI drum libraries and software compare to Superior Drummer?

Edit: Trying to decide if I should get K11 or K11U right away. I want the Symphony Essentials at some point down the line. It's dumb that the Symphony Essentials crossgrade costs as much as the damn K11U upgrade. NI's pricing scheme for individual products makes no sense whatsoever. It's like they've overvalued everything so high that it's only worth it to buy Komplete, and that's it.

It is not Black Friday yet. We have no idea what might hit in the next week. I remember the last two years, many of us had no clue what sales were going to happen till they actually hit ON BLACK FRIDAY.

Without George on board bugging the manufacturers to link hints, we just don't know.

Basically in the same boat.

Been getting started and ramping up with my plugin/VI collection this year, sale shopping. Only a few specific things I still want this year, including Komplete and some Blue Cat plugins. Then next year I'll pick up the SD 3.0 upgrade when that goes on sale.

For all the kit I've gathered at this point, I think I have enough to keep me busy for some time.

I really wonder about myself sometimes...I really want to like Waldorf synths but they just grind my gears. I've had a few over the years and always been happy to offload them. And yet, here we go again, me thinking "Maybe it will be different this time"

I haven't used Superior Drummer so i can't make that comparison.

This is (k)omplete speculation here but following NI's release schedule, i'm expecting K12 to come out in March with another Summer Of Sound sale a few months later. I'm on K10U and I'm gonna wait, but that's mainly because i need the money for Ableton 10.

I'm guessing you're correct. K11 was released in March 2016 or so?

This will be my first Komplete purchase, so far I just grabbed the Kontakt crossgrade while I decide what to do next. I'm thinking to get the best bang for the buck:
Go for K11 regular now, then upgrade to K12U next year once they do a sale again. Then probably hang onto K12U until K14 arrives. 8) And I think I'd be able to sell one of the older crossgrade licenses at that point to recover some of the costs as well?

From what I've read on the NI forums, it seems like most people these days wait to update their Kompletes every two versions or so. K11 seemed to have a bit of a mixed reaction for people who already had 10, and looks like a lot of people who had older versions skipped it.

Same strategy here.
All interesting stuff like Form I‘ve bought when it was released. So there‘s no real worth in upgrading from K10U to K11U. But I fear, we‘ll pay not 199 but 299 euros then...
