The engine is brand new (1.2006) and offers possibilitys, I had never dreamed of.

If you listen to the new demo mp3's,
you can hear what I mean.

But this new engine is also forceing us to rethink our whole concept and strategy.
Its exiting and I am sure the users will be very happy too, with our new ideas.

All I ever wanted is that the user (you) and me,
are truely happy with the results that can be archived by using the amp.

I think it sounds great - i have A2 coming with a free upgrade, but i'm still interested in this one. I still think you should just get a version one out there and then make a 1.5 that has more of your enhancements.

I still lean towards the idea of individual amp models that we can demo and then buy and get quantity discounts on. It seems (to my admittedly unprofessional mind) like you'd get a lot more of the market with that strategy. People who would spend $300 on an uber plugin will still spend $300 to buy them all or whatever, and people who would never dream of spending that much on a plugin (ie - the masses of freeware and sub $50 plugin users) would still be buying your product. I've said before that if it comes out and sounds this good for less than the price of a decent amp, then I should be all for it, but if it comes out sounding this good and is available in "small doses" for cheap(ish), I'll be completely addicted to getting new amps, and not just get burned out after one big hit.

That'd be brilliant! I'd be all for that kind of a model. That model would even support handling upgrades in a reasonable way--the Engl Powerball 1.0 model would be considered different than the Engl Powerball 2.0 model.

I'd rather see this get out soon... There is always going to be new improvements and exciting enhancements. You're going to have to release this sometime!

unless of course it's just lovely old vapourware. I'd prefer it wasn't (vapour ware), but I tend to be a bit cynical.

Hi,

I have a technical question.
Currently I am planning to buy a high end preamp for vocal recording (Millenia or 610).

Does somebody have some experience, in what way a good DI/Instrument preamp affects the sound of an amp sim like the one we are all waiting for in here :-)?

I am asking, because there are some preamps available which are not build just for vocals (e.g. Millenia TD1) and it would make it easier for me if I can improve my guitar sound too while spending a fortune just to make the frontman happy...

Which DI would you recommend for your amp sim? Does it matter at all?

I am sure I will get the preamp before this thing is released, so any idea is helpful.

Thanks,
Tom

(my two cents)
I agree, I would sell the individual plugs a la carte and go for the low-price niche (unless you're planning on putting NI/IKMM-size advertising $$ behind it). I would also re-release your xmastube freebie just to get people interested. Trust me, I used to sell heroin!!

I wasn't sure if I was being oblique enough in my analogy... now I know :hihi:

I think this idea has been heartily rebuked by midiworks, but I'm in agreement with you.

I would much prefer to have add-on packs that I could purchase and enjoy over time. I'd probably never spend $300 up front, but over time I'd spend more than that in small increments. That doesn't make sense, but its just easier to buy that way.
