Edit: first original post:

Please help !
Guitar riff & lick needed for distortion VST project !
I am working on a VST DISTORTION FX,
all the samples I can find are colored. :?

Here you can listen what has been done so far:
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemus ... dID=201397 using humbuckers. ;)

If anyone of the guitar players around here would be
so nice and simply record a few bars for me, that would be great !

1. Any type of guitar, but please tell me the model.
2. No amp, pre-amp, eq or fx. please !!!
3. Some rythm riffs (use the different pick ups)
4. Some leads (use the different pick ups)

I try to recreate a tube saturation.
Fat and powerfull.
So Rockers, plug in that guitar, please help.

THANKS A LOT GUYS & GIRLS !!!

P.S. Sure for your monitoring, to get the feel
you should/can use your FX.
But please, keep the recording 100% UNPROCCESSED. :)

Oh, think I forgot, PLEASE mp3's 192kbs if possible !
I am on dial up...

Hey I think i can help you. :)

Just as soon as I finish my competition entry I can provide you with some rhythm and lead playing. As far as rock goes I'm more from the Dream Theatre school of guitar playing.

My main guitar is a BC Rich Mockingbird NJ similar to this:

Two humbuckers. They are the stock BC Rich ones but I will soon be getting another Mockingbird with a Seymour Duncan Distortion in the bridge and another with a TB-12 George Lynch in the bridge position. I like the stock pickups in the neck position for some reason.

Midiworks,

I can do some riffs, chords, licks etc on my Variax if you want - it emulates a number of guitars so is there anything in particular you are looking for.

only because I know you actually can sing really good and I like your voice and your programming and production skills are top notch - I just didn't know that you also play the guitar - and based on what I know about your other skills I bet you do it rather good...

Actually I'm not the person to make a lot of compliments but I have to mention it because I think it's something special with you because you're a lady and sadly you're still very much in the minority :?

Actually, in the UK there is a slight skew in the favour of the gals...

Hi baggio,
I know about the Variax, never touched one,
but it seams to be a very interesting concept.

All kind of humbucker guitars would be usefull,
specially the semi-acoustic ones.

Do you think the Variax is worth the money ?

Cheers & thanks

Midiworks I'll do some semi-acoustic stuff for you tomorrow.

In terms of the Variax being worth it - I would give it a big yes. Of course people would rather own the real things but its not always practical in terms of expense. Anyway, I own a classic strat and telecaster, which I never use for recording anymore because the variax is so versatile - so many guitar tones to chose from and the issue of monitor interference etc from your PC is no longer an issue. I paid £400 for mine and its worth every penny - although I am not going to be selling my strat or tele - too much sentimental value.
