Happy new year everyone, we have a new update for SynthMaster 3 & SynthMaster 3 Player: v3.4.7

This update has the following fixes:

1. SynthMaster 3 VST3 might generate stuck notes when run inside FL Studio
2. When a dialog window is moved around the screen, it should not go out of screen.
3. SynthMaster doesn't read sample paths correctly from SFZ files when there are relative paths to parent directory

Using Reaper and FL Studio here too.

Have you tried unplugging your other controllers, or switching them off in the MIDI dialog and tried this just using one on it's own? I have had issues with my elderly Korg Nano series controllers sending spurious MIDI and ruining recordings until I figured out what the cause was. From the videos, you'll notice that certain notes get stuck more often than others. Look at the notes on the Synthmaster plugin keyboard display for confirmation.

Still getting stuck notes, but I think it's the VST3 note-off issue, and I forgot to disable the VST3 version in the installer as I usually do. Still, the VST3 note-off issue is a big deal, and should really be addressed properly, because it affects a lot of people.

Synthmaster 3 fails to load on Reaper for me. I'm currently on a Windows 10 machine. I then tried to update SM3 to the newest version, but scanning in Reaper fails. There is an error message, that the plugin is not responding, that there might be an activation window, but that never shows up.

Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't change anything. Neither does restarting the computer inbetween (#1 Windows problem solving stategy ).
There is no prompt to enter my serial or key. Am I doing anything wrong? Is there some cache file I need to delete?
Would the log files be of any help?
Any attempt to re-scan the plugin overwrites the key-file in the documents\SynthMaster3\ folder. I had SM3 running on my machine before but it recently stopped working.

Any help is appreciated.

Hey, see if this helps you:

Go to Options > Preferences > Plug-ins > VST (or VST3 if that's the format).
Hit Clear cache/re-scan (or "Re-scan all plug-ins").
If the plugin shows in the FX browser but "offline" or failed: Check the box for "Re-scan plug-ins that failed previous scans", then apply/re-scan.

Or you can try:

In Preferences > Plug-ins > VST: Look for the button/list "Plug-ins that failed to scan" (or similar—select the synth plugin if listed).
Highlight it and hit Re-scan just that one (forces REAPER to check the license fresh now that it's activated).
If it's blocklisted: Clear cache fully, restart REAPER, re-scan.

EDIT: looks like you fixed it. In the future you or someone can use these methods, or even myself as a reference= Pony-up (name).

Yeah, I tried both things several times, didn't work. Deleting those files helped.

Hi Bulent,

I have some suggestions for SM3:

• MIDI export of the internal sequencer, drag'n'drop into the daw. So you could import, but also export easily

• Triggering different sequence parts via midi

• Multiple outputs, output 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 as "output" block in the modular view for example.

• If a control/knob is automated, and you click it first, after the focus was on a different control, it already could show the automation of this control, also providing the mouse handle for the modulation amount, this only if there is only one modulation

• If you click a mod slot in the modulation list, then you also can drag the amount on the target control. But it is not indicated that there is some kind of selection of a mod slot. This selection/focus could be reflected in the gui, e.g. using a border around the currently focuessed mod slot. On mouse over or click, all affected controls could be highlighted, too. In this way it would make it possible to understand the modulation interconnections on-the-fly.

Then I have some questions:

• Is it possible to map notes of a chord to left and right panning, I mean not by switch, but explicitly put for example note 1 to -50%, note 2 to -15%, note 3 to 15% and note 4 to 100%?

• Can I shift/rotate the data in the sequencer somehow, so the last entry appears at start then?

• I am not sure how to setup fm, modulator fms an osc. Using a preset, I seem to get buggy results, but I guess I am simply doing it wrong. Is there a manual about FM in SM3?

It's a lot of fun to use your synth in KVR OSC compo, just amazing, how quickly you get nice results!

For anyone else experiencing the missing waveforms/wavetables issue with some presets, I tried some of the other things mentioned in this thread but what finally solved it was deleting those 4 .wfdb and .txt.

Also for anyone on the fence about whether to get the product or not, I used to be an editor at the now defunct SoundBytes Magazine and after years of using earlier Synthmaster products finally got the everything bundle last summer. Not only has it been among my most used soft synths since then but the new expansion presets I got for free since then (including Luftrum 33) have been some of the ones I enjoyed the most.

I am not affiliated with KV331 and have not had any interactions outside of usual customer service but I wanted to write this since Synthmaster 3 is one of the 10 soft synths I use most these days (and I've been buying softsynths for roughly 23 years at this point) and there are very, very few that offer as much content for the money as the SM3 Everything bundle. On top of that, it has one of my favorite preset audition systems and is one of the first ones where I can effectively and quickly audition any number of sounds without setting up a session with my own example MIDI files. Saves me a lot of time.
