Not specifically, since AV1 has a bunch of other stuff (images, tunings....) that are not related to the Waveforms, and there is not much overlap in terms of the percent of total files in the collection...

send us an email though, we will look at your order history, and maybe we can do something minor during the summer promo. Maybe we can do something for AV1 + 64-bit waveforms for KS use if you don't already have them?

Tried it...its ok soundwise, too cpu heavy and price is ridiculous for what you get. 80% of the sounds you creat with (or feed synths) is gonna sound a bit similar on the end. But, I´ll keep loving 2C reverbs...much better products than this one and mind that I am ambient/drone producer, so, Ive got a bit of experience in this territory.

Its fun to use....and will take a long time to learn.
Quite a few clicks despite following advice.
Very CPU heavy.
Would like to be able to zoom into pictures rather than use trim tools (scroll wheel?)
The circular trim tool for horizontal movement should also be used for vertical trim. It's pointless to have that bar on the right.
There are a lot of weird glitch/feedback/random malfunctions when using waves for tuning.
Would be nice to have an in built verb.

Well I would say you can get instantly great results without really knowing the details of what you are doing. In this way it is like some kind of sonic game/toy, but it can be very rewarding and inspirational this way. Sometimes if you let go of the analytical mind temporarily it is better for the creative mind. It is not necessary to understand how it works exactly. The complexity is beyond normal human comprehension in most cases in terms of being able to predict exactly what will occur when there are multiple time-lines, and out-of order tunings, etc.

I would say instantly useable, months to understand the subtlies, and a lifetime of exploration to comprehend the depths and implications...

When changing parameters? This is expected at the moment. Working on it.
bundoo wrote:Very CPU heavy.
Working on it, but it is by its nature a very computationally intense alg. It scales linearly with the height of the Active Lines area of the picture however. 1-active line is almost nothing. 512 is well, 512 times as much...
bundoo wrote:Would like to be able to zoom into pictures rather than use trim tools (scroll wheel?)
Visually it might be ok do do this on the GUI, but repeating pixles to scale/zoom is not desirable for the audio envelopes as it will lead to the stair-step shape in the envelope instead of the smooth shape that will happen without zooming. And if we are taking about extreme zoom factors if we have non integer ratios we will have some kind of interpolation error in the display. So probably we will not do this.

We may/will prob offer some kind of image zoom where the image itself WILL change in size/scale and pixels will be repeated etc. This has a definite audio effect as mentioned, but sometimes it is an acceptable creative effect.

Your wish is our command: double click on the circle. Et viola! Now you can drag it vertically too if you wish. Shift-drag snaps to grid.

Not that we know of... Can you provide some details?

Would add CPU usage of course... Maybe eventually though. It would be cool for designing presets if we had a way to pair a KS (as it is now) preset with B2 preset for example so that when the preset was loaded it would give the full effect.... Maybe in the future. not immediately....

What you need is a 2C rack ;)

Yes, perhaps... :tu:

Cheers. Any plans for drawing capabilities?

no no no... it doesn't need a less than stellar "built in" reverb. I'd rather it use cpu for other/additional ideas Andrew might have for it. anyone using this tool would/should know to use whatever dedicated additional processing they desire. and 2c already have stellar reverbs available to add if you wish. no use adding generic effects to the design concept of this particular tool.

^ +1 for the Unix philosophy here. Kaleidoscope doesn't need effects.

I love this plugin, still testing it out but 100% buying it next month :P

Agree more or less. If we added it, I would want something like the full B2 in KS as some kind of super generative ambient machine...

The main goal would be simply to make presets that the "point and click" crowd can load and reproduce what I show with KS + B2 etc. without answering emails that ask: "hey i heard this really cool sound in your demos, but I don't find it exactly in KS"?

I try to make abundantly clear that KS should 95% of the time be followed by some reverb and I feel Aether and B2 are the go-to choices for this... but well, some people don't like to read, and I admittedly this condition may be aggravated by my tendency to have a bit of proclivity for verbosity, which is a bit of an antiquated policy in the days of 140-characters or less. :D

...but perhaps something like a Rack shell/container idea would be a cool idea as then we can make preset combinations without having to shove everything into one mega product...

(anyway we have been doing major code reorganizing to KS for the past few months to allow some very cool things...)

It's explained ad naseum on the web and in the very comprehensive manual. But don't worry, some video tutorials (to compliment the great ones Simon so generously donated his time to make) will help immensely the reading-adverse.

we have some ideas about this... you'll see...

Regarding this Cocoon example piece:

Image

Here are all preset sources used in the piece for both KS and B2:

http://2caudio.com/sitecontent/products ... resets.zip

File names begin with the track. If you look at the mixer image above you can recreate this project more or less exactly if you wish. (note this is actually an artist piece of mine that I will release as part of a music album, so if you do something with it, change it substantially please so you can call it you own. )

There is one exception: the "03 Airy Ost (alt).2ca" KS preset used an image that was later renamed it seems. So it had a missing image. I choose a different one and re-saved it. The original was something in that folder (Complex Scalar 03), so if you really miss that exact sound you can try all the images in that folder until you find it if you really want. One of them will create the sound exactly as it is in the piece.

Enjoy. :hyper:

fair enough...no need for bloat....will have to check out these verbs then

Can't wait for new 2CAudio stuff!

A little dark trip into space with Kaleidoscope and B2. They really belong together :D
