The demo version still shows as 1.0.1.7 from Oct 2014. I understand you've made loads of updates since release...is there a newer demo version available?
+1
I´m now very interested in buying Serum but i also would like to test the latest version before i do.
I will try to get a new demo up this week and post about it here. I've been deferring it because there are some big features on the table (no pun intended.... or is it?) :ud: and I was sort of hoping to get some of that upcoming stuff in place.. but I will just update the demo yet again down the road!

so i have a macbook pro with 2.3ghz i7 16gb ram and flash storage. i literally have a new empty project in logic. one instance of serum and i'm getting HUGE cpu issues. i'm on the latest update of serum as well. just updated it today. is serum this cpu intensive? i can't use more than one instance.....

Post

No I'm also on Mac but with an i5 and Serum is not that bad. Did you try different patches, all the same?

Yeah I'm just on the default patch. It gets worse as I start to tweak anything though. Adding any sort of modulation and voicing makes it almost unusable.

Switch to draft-mode in preferences, increase buffer size in Logic.

I'm using Serum with same spec mac mini without issue in Bitwig.

yeah i'm starting to feel like it might be a logic issue. doesn't seem like anyone else using different DAW's has the problem.

Have you tried making the buffer size bigger in Logic? That might help if it's set very low.

Yeah, even at 1024 it's marginally better.

Oh wow, that's really weird. You might want to email Steve if you're interested in this synth.
Anyway, I'm running it happily on a MBA (In Live), so your MBP shouldn't be the problem.

Yeah that's why I'm thinking it might just be a logic issue with it. Bummer

I have a ton of happy users in Logic. Obviously if you can try another host as a test you might narrow down the issue further. I would recommend to contact me through the website if you'd like assistance!

No issues here with Serum inside Logic X whatsoever.
