This sort of thing is totally reasonable to expect from a vat these days. But it's not a complete deal breaker for me. I'm a big fan of this synth. Anyway, you asked the question, so I answered it.
I'm surprised that they haven't updated these things, if only to stop the most common complaints people have about it.
I think there's definitely scope to take Massive X and some ideas from Massive to make a Massive 3. (3 osc, dual filters). But at this point I think theyd need to copy a bunch of stuff from Serum 2, which has so many synthesis modes (and good publicity) everything else is really playing catch up now.
