And probably that's why we've seen so few advertising of itjules99 wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:49 pmNo standalone. No VST3. No import of your own wavetables, no import of old Massive presets. No visible modulation (in Serum or Phase Plant you see the movement of the parameters). No MPE. Very rudimentary preset browser. If you change a parameter in the envelope section, like the Attack, this is not reflected in the graphic below. Even Massive could do that.
Massive is one good-sounding and terribly unfinished product.
Let's hope it's not another one of the long line of recent NI products where they release something kind of finished, promise to fix it down the line and never do.

Hopefully 'Massive' is flagship enough that we'll see some big updates.. might take a while thoughjules99 wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:49 pmNo standalone. No VST3. Yes, a fair point well made.ghettosynth wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:40 pmSure, and, no. Often when new synths come with something innovative then this is an easy statement to make. I make no secret that I'm a super fan of the technology in Blocks, and, consequently, what NI has been doing for the last few years. I use the hell out of the Monark filter. So, to see that in a new poly with an interesting complex oscillator and fantastic modulation makes it easy to see that this is a synth that will become a goto for many kinds of sounds.Vortifex wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:27 pmThose comments always make me laugh.digitalboytn wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 12:00 pm I'm just waiting for someone to say that it is their "Go To" synth after they have had it for 5 minutes :![]()
It will probably be the non-modular synth that I spend the most time with for the rest of the year. Look, it's not like everyone can compete here. I basically look for new stuff from NI and Uhe, everyone else trails in some way. So, my "goto synth" will be something that they put out and you can often predict that before the synth even comes out.

It should be available for download in Native Access. You will see it (if everything is normal that is)

Did you order the trial? You need to do that, otherwise it won't show up in Native Access.gentleclockdivider wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 2:00 pm Quick question , should massive x just appear in my native acces for download , or do I have to take additional steps ?

I don't see a demo link, by the way: https://www.native-instruments.com/de/p ... massive-x/

It's already my go-to synth now. By the way.

Here's a few of my initial thoughts, after a very brief hands-on experience with Massive X:
I think the presets are generally excellent. My worst fear was 800 variations of wub wub bass, with a half-dozen slightly different sawtooth string pads tossed in for good measure.
There's a lot of diversity here, and in general, it all sounds very nice! This synth is very capable of clear, pristine sounds, as well as gritty tones. It's also not cold or digital sounding, unless it's been programmed to sound that way. So far, I haven't noticed any aliasing harshness, but I haven't scrutinized it extremely closely yet.
My system is a bit older. I was afraid the CPU usage would be Massive™, or that I wouldn't be able to run the plugin at all, but it's running fine for me. (My CPU apparently has that AVX thingy in it.) Here's my system specs:
Windows 10
i5-3340M Quad-Core CPU @ 2.70 GHz
8 GB of RAM
My DAW is Tracktion 7
For most presets, my CPU usage is between 17-20%. Some presets do use more CPU. I've seen as much as 33% with a few presets, so far. Remember, I do have an older system. I'm sure many folks with newer computers will report far better CPU usage stats than mine.
I've tried a few presets that use Gorilla Mode, and I didn't notice any problems, even though one person in this thread said that mode reportedly requires 16GB of RAM. The presets using Gorilla Mode seem to play fine on my system with only 8GB of RAM.
I haven't tried to create any custom patches yet. I still need to get some breakfast, and then read the Massive X manual. Overall, it seems to be a terrific synth. I hope everyone else is liking it as much as I am so far.
