I'm shocked, you guys dance when your supposed to sit still and ponder over how nice these weird modulations fits into this classic type of neo rock
Hmm is there a thing called neo rock

Glad that picture gave some meaning, i really should have named each track with proper instrument names but will do that in the future5bongo5 wrote:Wow, I really appreciated that screenshot! Really helped me deconstruct the arrangement while listening, and realize that this smoothly flowing piece was constructed almost entirely with relatively short building blocks. I have a lot to learn about composition and arrangement, and this was a nice eye opener! Wonderfully done.mkastrup wrote:
Hey tboulette, maybe a picture can inspire you thenIts a screenshot of the total setup for that tune in Cubase 4.
I seldom use XMF because its a tad more cpu hungry than the normal modules so i saw no reason to jump on the 2.5 wagon (which is XMF enhanced) until i had rounded up most ideas from 2.3.zvenx wrote:Michael why were YOU of all people holding back on 2.5? I guess busy with other work.

I cheated on Zebra with a kazoo. I feel terrible, and the sound wasn't even any good.

Some fun with new XMF, can post patches if anyone wants. There are a couple pads using the 'diff' mode that I think gets into some really great sonic territory - I don't know if they sound too special or gee-whiz but they feel clean when patching.
Also, a beat slicer followed by Uhbik-G is a send for percussion, took about 30 seconds to patch and hopefully sounds good ...
There's just a touch of a non-U-He reverb and I think two or three Ableton compressors, other than that it's Zebra, samples, and Uhbiks.

I liked it, had a little gloomy touch to it. I'm listening at very low volume right now and the drums are very loud compared to the synths.xh3rv wrote:Some fun with new XMF, can post patches if anyone wants.
