Thanks Scott and Urs!
I just became curious because in my mind I think the LP filter sounds a bit like a roland diode ladder in it's characteristics (transistors wired as diodes in a ladder design).
I have a Eurorack modular as well, with a moog-style, synthi, ssm2040, korg ms-20 (later rev) and finally a SEM filter and I think the filter in ACE sounds somewhere between my synthi and the transistor ladder filter in LP mode.
Also I think that you could compare ACE to a Yamaha CS15 but with some extra features and patching obviously. :)

I think the diodish harshness in ACE is related to the input signal. We've been investigating this a lot recently, and we think that the main culprit is the linear mixer within ACE, and the lack of a DC-filter in the filter input (mind you, we had one there and took it out). Now that we have an actual Minimoog to listen to, there's been a lot of decyphering here... which will be reflected in updates later...

Another thing Urs, in a future update - will you consider adding the ramp generator to the list of possible VCA mod sources, today it's Gate, ADSR1 and ADSR2. I'd love to see the ramp there as well. What do you think?

I agree. At first I was a bit turned off to ACE's sound, but that was more because I was thinking ARP2600ish due to it's concept. I grew to really dig it's up front modern kind of sound. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a more vintagey option too, but I'd hope to have it as something switchable.eXode wrote:Well I like this character quite a bit, but options are always nice! ;D
