I just tracked it down... It is the Formant filter... I did not compare the the previous version but in some case the difference is lots so I think I would have noticed... but then again... maybe that was already there... cause I have always wondered why presets with the formant turned up seemed to have different volumes at different times... hmmm... will try to check laterUrs wrote:Huh? Really? Did you notice that with any specific modules?pdxindy wrote:Latest AU Zebra beta also has significant volume difference from 44khz to 88 khz

Another bug. Latest Zebra2 2.5 beta (32-bit VSTi), Reaper 3.74, Windows 7 64-bit, AMD.
Load Factory -> 6 Lupines -> HS Rev Updown
All notes sound like modulated noise. It seems to be related to the LFO. Modes Rand glide, Rand Hold, and User all produce this weird effect and don't seem to be modulating correctly. Change the LFOG1 to Sine or Triangle and you'll hear the preset go back into normal LFO operation. Let me know if you want an audio example.
Also I have a question, does anyone know of a way to create a modulation source that is random for each note on event but stays the same for the entire note on event?
For example:
1. C4 on (modulator generates 40)
2. C4 off
3. C4 on (modulator generates 72)
4. C4 note sustained (modulator stays at 72 until C4 note off)
I can easily do this in Reason's Thor with the step sequencer and a bit of routing to cause MIDI Gate to trigger a random step of the sequence. Maybe the ModMapper can have a new mode called "Random Key" and would randomly select a single step for the duration of the note.

Not the same thing as I requested, please re-read my post. With alternate mode if I set the modmapper to 4 and press C4 8 times in a row I'll get the exact same cycle of modulations twice. What I was looking for was a way to set the Modmapper to 4 steps and every press of C4 gives me one of the 4 selected bars randomly. This kind of controlled randomness can be useful to emulate mostly stable sounds or for tiny amounts of subtle variation for each keypress of the same note.pdxindy wrote:use the modmapper... on alternate mode...

Don't set the modmapper to 4... leave it at lots of bars... by the time it cycles you will never notice... it is effectively randombmrzycki wrote:Not the same thing as I requested, please re-read my post. Easy-peasy...bmrzycki wrote:What I was looking for was a way to set the Modmapper to 4 steps and every press of C4 gives me one of the 4 selected bars randomly.
mode = Map Quantize
modulator = LFO(x), mode = Rand Hold, Restart = Gate

Ok, so my Zebra2(x64) on Windows 7 64-bit in Cubase 5 64-bit freezes on a tone or tones when playing a keyboard when INITIALLY using Zebra. Even if I am only using one Zebra track.
It only freeze ONCE at which time I use the MIDI "Reset" (at the bottom of the MIDI menu) and from then on everything is fine. So it's not a big deal per se, but a bit annoying when you startup to get going.
But everytime I start Cubase and play Zebra with a MIDI keyboard, it freezes on a note (or notes, whichever keys happen to be playing when it happens).
Otherwise, Urs, I am enjoying Zebra immensely. Having more fun every time I get to play with it. SOOO easy to use and "logical"!

Right-clicking to set the current view as default seems to be not working on the Dec 20 beta. It does work, however, on the Oct 16 beta. I'm using the 32-bit version with Windows XP.

Is this a Bug, using the latest Zebra Beta in 32-Bit Mode in Logic 9.1.3:
I made a Zebrify Patch this morning using a User LFO set to gate controlling various parameters. When I trigger the LFO with a Midi note the first two steps of the LFO curve play fine then the LFO plays random steps and is not running through the various steps that I programmed. Tried everything to fix it to no avail. Any ideas?
