I'm ignoring all other posts, just let me post some bullet points here:
- a proper imprint is an obligated need while having a firm, or writing a blog. It's part of European Internet Rights (Spain is still a part of Europe).
- the developer promised a demo from the day he first presented it on KVR
- There is no discussion in whether or not this product is a bargain and/or has no copy protection. Other firms are "low budget" as well, but offer demos or refunds (WOK, Rayzoon, Sknote, Genuine Soundware, just to name a few), this argument is invalid
- I want to objectily test stuff on my own material, not listen to others (especially MP3 demos) and make wild guesses
- I don't have money to throw around, if you have it left over, I'm open for donations
- I will not sign into any random page/blog/board just to try to dig out a contact info only to have another "data-corpse" lying around
- SonEQ has nothing to do with SatSon. Two different products!
Furthermore:
Even though as some try to press this on me - I am not taking the blame for the "vanishing" of the developer here on KVR. He was overly secretive and didn't respond to honest meant questions/direct contact either but rather always linked to random GearSluts stuff only.
I will not go any more into that!
Period!
Thank you!
I wish more users would be as kind and helpful.

They are both from the same coder, so they have that to do with eachother.Compyfox wrote:I'm ignoring all other posts...

You're not to blame. It was the developers own choice to leave. Though i had to cringe multiple times reading the tone in your posts. Compyfox i read several pages of that thread and i must say, to put it mildly, you were unkind.Compyfox wrote:Furthermore:

And as far as secretive goes, most any plugin that is announced here by any dev doesn't get that level of drilling like you did there. There was no more secrecy there than in most any other thread where a dev keeps things exciting upto release. Heck, if you found him secretive then you must really get peed off by Bootsy! Sometimes he announces something and not say what it is, or is very vague about it, for weeks at a time!
Really you should see that your emotions got the better of you and you were unkind. I felt embarrased reading it while the developer tried to be nice. Please try to be a bit more positive and supporting.
Is the dev not making demo's anymore? I don't recall him saying that. If so then i must have missed it.
Btw, regarding you not having money. Do you own VCC? If so, how can you afford that and don't have the money for Satson? I don't mean that rude but you asked for donations. If you're really in such a tight spot and can't afford Satson but really want to hear it maybe ask a colleague if he/she has it.
I hope that you will work out the money issues and be able to test Satson soon.

Sorry, but this kind of statement can never be anything but a subjective one and is therefore governed by taste. A lot of people think a lot of free plug-ins are "ridiculously good for the price" and that doesn't mean I necessarily like or will use them. Demo is standard procedure for almsot all developers. Either that or they operate like Audio Damage and you get a nearly instant refund with no hassle and no attitude if you don't like the plug-in in your own applications (something I did several times with AD).zeep wrote: The plugin is ridiculously good for a price that low.
I think the resistance that seems to be expressed here from some people about other people demanding a demo is pretty hard to understand.

That's ridiculous. What possibly could someone have said? Time to put on the big boy pants if he wants to play with the big boys, and by that I mean the many many great "indie" developers that are hooked into kvr in one form or another. This site is an important resource, IMO, for somebody like me looking for useful nuggets and practical and objective opinions about toys I can afford and love to play with. If I want somebody to tell me that Satson is crap and I should be dumping all my tracks to 2" and running everything through a $50,000 console and into a $20,000 PT rig running $6,000 of waves plugs, then I'll go to gearslutz.kelvyn wrote:You won't find Diego at KVR anymore after his unfortunate experience here...
But seriously seriously... you (as in he) need a thick skin to be in this field. Heck, even EastWest has some sort of presence here! Think about it. How crazy is that after all these years?
I happened to grab Satson on blind trust, some useful thread discussion, and a low price. I usually do not do that, even for ultra cheap stuff. I'm not dissappointed, in fact I'm loving this plug, particularly for a little cassette "remastering" thingy I'm doing for a friend.
That being said, you really need to spend some time with it on different material and in a good listening environment (you know, if that's your thing, not that there's anything wrong with that). So I support compyfox in his desire to demo the thing some way or another. Whether that's through a private arrangement or a refund or whatever.
There's simply no substitute for sitting down with the thing and trying it on your own content and especially in combination with all those other magical plugs in your toolset. For example, for that little remastering/restoration project I have one chain that looks like Satson => Voxengo Soniformer => WaveArts MR => SKNote Presence => TB Ferox... There's simply no other way to judge the impact of something like Satson without having it at your fingertips.
Anyway, great plug, and I hope to see him back here someday. I'm sure he'd find he has more "friends" here than the usual amount of "enemies".

I agree with what you say here. And if someone can do Gearsltuz, but can't do KVR, I'm not sure I could guess why. GS has often been one of the rudest, silliest, and most callous forums I've been on.kbaccki wrote:...
Bootsy is a good name to bring up because I find a lot of what he does to be very subtle and it will work well in some applications and simply do nothing (that I can hear) of any use in others. The only "ridiculously low" price that I will trust in a plug-in that has no demo, is free. If I had paid for some of Bootsy's plug-ins I'm not sure I would have been happy with the purchase, and that isn't because I think they aren't good, I just wouldn't have found enough use for them in what I do.

Where did Diego say he was leaving KvR? I've read both threads (locked and this one) and I can't find where he says that. It may look like diamonds but it's just probably zircon

The guy from the US quoted the guy from the Netherlands who said that the guy from Argentina is bagging KVR, and now the guy from Venezuela says that it was a misunderstanding?Mercado_Negro wrote:Where did Diego say he was leaving KvR? In any case, I'd like to read more about how people are using the plug-in.

A demo is a great marketing tool. But it's not a right. You can say I will not buy a plugin without a demo. That's fair. But you can't keep insisting a developer must create a demo and feel affronted if he doesn't. It starts to feel like harassment. Just go about your business with other plugs.
