Dear fellows,

Sonimus Satson is ready to buy now.

Bought it, and I have really to say, worth every single Dollar.

The new homepage is ready now, too.

http://dsp.sonimus.com/

I hope we will not have a "blocked" thread again here because of strange discussions about this great plug in the past. :?

Please consider: I am not interested in technical discussions, again. :uhuhuh:

For me it is the sound quality that counts, nothing more and nothing less. 8)

I would be interested in your opinions, so I decided to make a poll. Do you like it or not?

I hope we will have a lot of replies here.

Please consider that AU64 is still in beta and VST64 will come soon.

Greetings

b-pole :)

Waiting for the demo. :D

Is there a kind of teamwork between buss and channel? Or how does it work?

Post

Awesome!

A couple questions:
http://dsp.sonimus.com/products/satson/

"1. Saturation can be disabled if you only want to use Satson for trim and metering." - What about stereo crosstalk? Can I use these without saturation, but with crosstalk?

"2. Satson Buss has a "LOUD" switch that adds more "air" on highs and punch on lows." - Looking at the picture, I only see "FAT" and "On/Off" switch on the Satson Buss. Where is the "LOUD" switch located?

Thanks!

Hope that there's gonna be a demo version! :)

I would like to try a demo before buying. I want to get a Console plugin at some point but the choice is tough with Redline Preamp, Slate Console and Soundtoys Juice. I suppose price is one think that is speaking in favor of Satson....

Post

I'd also like to try a demo, wouldn't mind hearing lots of A/B on/off examples also.

demo next week, weird idea for a poll :nutter:

the poll is not timely limited...enough time to test after the Demo will be out...

It's okay for me to wait for a demo. But when you release a product nowadays, you should at least have some sort of audio previews or videos showing dry and wet settings of the plug-in, or the release is pretty much useless. (Beside some people can't wait and it's that amazing-bargain-mixture :D)

B-pole: In what areas would you use the plugin? Glueing buses in the mix, in the mastering chain - specific instruments? I'm curious to know. :)

This is emulating the behaviour and sound of mix consoles. You actually run instances of the *channel* on each channel and *buss* on every bus + master bus. At least this is recommended in the manual and this is also the same with VCC.

Post

That sounds straightforward enough. But my question wasn't merely technical, but more if it excels in all or certain of these areas.

Post

Well, I'm in. For $39 and their copy protection scheme this is something I can't resist.
Edit: Have bought it/tested it. All I can say  - for $39 this is a NO BRAINER. Samson and my beloved VCC will be best friends ;) Jeez, we are getting spoiled these days! If this will not generate a hype then I don't know what will..

How can we answer a poll about a product we can't try or even hear?

Were there sound clips posted earlier?

I guess this is a poll for the few people that were willing to buy it purely on faith.

I would answer the poll question "Are you satisfied with the GUI?"

Looks nice. :)

If mastering/saturation and getting peaky spikes under control is on your agenda, bite the bullet and buy the damn thing, you won't be disappointed, unless you are using it wrong!
