It was one of the best. Lyle Mays with Metheny was also a good one.
Oh yes! These are some true über musicians. I LOVE them.
mcnoone wrote:I actually almost got Lyle Mays signature lead sound out of Diva now, and I'm gonna go for some classic Jan Hammer leads as well.
Only using Diva now. There will be no real instr emulations from me using it though. Go'in all classic synth stuff for now, and lov'in Diva a lot.
Take care Dan. :)
I would like to hear that! :)

okay...I'll have something soon.

Here's some hybrid plucks done using Zebra.

These sounds are actually available for free download too.
(except one which is in the pay for Soliton bank)

Since it has been mentioned numerous times including the South Park parody - that iconic "Inception" song everybody is referring to is not composed by Hans Zimmer.

It's called "Mind Heist" by Zack Hemsey:

The misconception even made it into his Wikipedia entry:

Just saying ...

I try to miss the trailers on purpose :hihi:

Hans Zimmer earned every bit of acclamation for Inception IMHO, no confusion here ... for comparison -

I do remember seeing an Angels And Demons trailer that was like 95% cinematic drum bombs - a bit over the top. It's like the people producing the trailers see 'Hans Zimmer' and think 'ZOMG more drum bombs!'.

This one is soft, like using brushes to play the notes
I love the way Urs' stuff sounds, but I've demo'd Zebra twice and was never inspired. I love the Tyrell N6 and Diva, but this sound is just absolutely beautiful and is definitely making me want to look into Zebra again.
If you want the classic analog synth sound, then Diva is the choice. But Zebra has its own beauty and it excels in whole areas of sound that Diva doesn't go.

And of course, wait til you see/hear Zebra 2.6 !!

Thanks everyone! :)
@pdxindy: Your sounds are awesome again!

Cool sounds! Thanks for posting...

I like Zebra for various acousticish pluck type sounds... The first is straight Zebra osc's no internal or external effects.

This one is more stylized... it uses a modulated portamento to create a subtle polyphonic pitchbend on some notes.

http://draigathar.org/sounds/Candetar3.wav

This one is soft, like using brushes to play the notes

Zebra is a near endless playground for plucked sounds. It is also unrivaled for bells of all sorts. I am a fan of hybrid realism and have not come across a synth that can match it for versatility.
Very cool sounds both of you.

Professional technicians are assessed by the abilities they possess.
Amateur technicians are assessed by the tools they possess - and the amount of those tools, with an obvious preference to the latest hyped ones.

Well, I like Zebra and have a lot of fun with it. I can get a lot of useful sounds out of it. From synth-ish sounds to semi realistic things to abstract chaos thingys. But maybe I'm just not cool enough to realize how bad Zebra really is :hihi:

I just began to design a simple bowed sound. I just began an hours or so ago so there isn't much going on yet and some things still sound a bit strange:

And to get the thread back in a positive tone, here is a soothing ethereal Zebra sound... ;)

Yeah well - I don't know. Might as well be that Elhardt is so much out of this world that he didn't even realize it was a warez site.

Interesting! I like that "Hochhaus" feeling that it has. It has something real while it sounds refreshingly synthetic. Cool.
