Forget that one. Sakura is a definite and Harmor is a no-brainer.

Not sure about Groove Machine.

Yeah, I really want Gross Beat. So I think i'll buy Harmor, Sakura and Gross Beat. I don't need Groove Machine (I have the ipad Electribes and other such apps and vsti's).

Is there any other product, free or paid, like Gross Beat, that is less expensive than $45? I want it specifically for the envelope gating feature.

Mike
Look at their plugins. Great stuff!

MeldaProduction MRhythmyzer, just bought it 2 weeks ago - very good product, suggest you to demo it.
Perfect. Now I don't need Gross Beat!

Thanks for the heads up.

I decided to just get Harmor for now. If I didn't have any other hardware or virtual groove boxes, this would be a no-brainer (effectively just $36 more after the extra 10% discount).

Hey Mike

Has Toxic been updated at all lately? I read a review on it that's dated 2008.
I don't have any FM type synths, (some I have can do a bit of FM, but not like Toxic) and am thinking of getting it. :)
Nope. Not one update in all the years i've owned it. It does sound good though.

Mike
Ok cool, thanks for the info Mike.

I guess if it works great, sounds great, etc, that's all that matters. :)

Another older synth I thought about getting (with no updates for a long time) is Surge.

I mean... I just got Minimonsta a few months ago, and it hasn't been updated in years either, but I love it :)

I guess I would get either Toxic or Harmor, both are really cool

For those of you buying our synths, don't forget the Preset Forums, there's one for most Synths/Effects...

Get Harmor. That synth is off the charts amazing. Toxic is cool, but I think you may be disappointed. Harmor is way more current and can do a zillion times more.

Honestly, I like the simplicity of Harmless, but Harmor is much better "deal."
Was thinking of the same thing. Also since it was cheaper. But given that theyre at the same price, I had to reconsider.

That's a synth. Gross Beat is an effect.

Mike
Curve is a Synth but the other plugins are not. VolumeShaper can produce Gates effects and much more.
FilterShape and the free pancake are awesome.

I like Sytrus:

Odd.

SliceX's wave editor seems to include everything in Edison (plus has additional capabilities including Articulation), yet SliceX's regular price is lower than Edison's.

Any idea why?

BeatSlicer/BeatCreator are not related to Slicex (although they shared similar features).

Scott, while you are here: any plans for groove machine to go 64 bit in 2012?

thanks,

After demoing a few Harmor is definitely my favourite. I like Sytrus but that gui is too small for me. Do i need another synth though? :help:

:D I don't have anything that does image resynthesis like Harmor and the browser integration with FL is really useful for accessing and loading samples and envelopes. I've got all the waveforms from rapture to use too plus tons of sample fodder. I'm finding it really good for drones and textures, definitely not something i can easily cover with what i've got. Really low hit on the cpu as well. Dammit, brain just lost the argument. :x :hihi:

Hehe, this is my internal struggle every time I demo something. Also, there's usually a third party involved: my wallet.
