There is nothing missing in AD2 from AD1. Everything is improved upon.

Post

Thanks guys. I was basically asking since I have AD2 installed now, whether there is any point in also installing AD1. It sounds like there is not.
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Many presets have been left out of V2 actually.

I don't miss them - those that are in AD2 are excellent. A lot of AD1 default presets were... meh. IMHO.

Unfortunately it's the more experimental/sound design type presets that have been left out. Not many made it over from the distorted/experimental folders.

But since you can re-import them to AD2... no biggie, right?

Evil Dragon
How do you import old presets from Ad1 to Ad2?

Thanks

Already mentioned in the thread here, go back a page or so.

Yeah. But the question was asked whether it's worth installing AD1 at all or just AD2. Can't really import them if you haven't installed now can you?

But anyways yeah I'll be uninstalling AD1, I moved the old presets out though so I can re-import them. Kind of annoying that there is no folder management at all now and the only tag you get is electronic or acoustic and that natural to extreme setting.

FWIW, I've kept my AD1 installed too because I like some of my own custom presets and can't be arsed (yet) to reproduce them in AD2.

As such, I might be missing something but I fail to see why people worried about losing some AD1 features don't just keep both versions installed?

Well for one thing the content is in there twice if you keep AD1 installed. Why not just import your presets into AD2? You don't have to recreate them, you just drag them onto the AD2 interface as has already mentioned.

Agreed.

The graphics look nice but I fear they are just eating up valuable resources.

As said earlier, swapping kit pieces with mega scrolling menus is a bit of a joke.

I hope they're working on a serious makeover.

You can always use up-down arrows on the kitpiece frame itself without calling up the big window... It's faster that way. You can also just click on the NAME of the kitpiece and you get all the kicks (or all the snares, etc.) in a neat dropdown menu. It's all written in the manual. No makeover necessary (they just did it, it's called AD2 and it is what it is), just reading the darn manual! ;)
