Ah sheesh. Oh well, thanks for the update, might be tomorrow morning now for us tired Europeers.woodsdenis wrote:OK launch update, Skippy just messaged from a plane heading to LA for the launch an hour ago. So I assume a couple of hours yet.

While that certainly is a good guess, it's an insult to those of us who have little better to do than refresh twitter/fb/kvr every minute and are sitting in our own filth having thought so deeply about the possibilities we'll be dreaming about Eric Persing for a week. Unfortunately guitar instrument has been ruled out.incubus wrote:4th instrument?

The first 100 to buy the Fourth Instrument
from the KVR Forum will Pay only 10%.
Oh. Never mind.
It was a passing thought just I had.

Phew, thanks - that's given me the push I needed to abandon this thread for a few hours.incubus wrote:4th instrument?

If it is another lousy virtual guitar, I'm going to be disappointed. We already have so many incredible VG's that IMO another one is not needed.

+1.
What is worse is that after all of this anxiety, it won't be ready for a few months if the past in any indication.

I'm calling it now. It's going to be a Vocaloid type VST.
Love 'em or hate 'em, Yamaha's Vocaloid is very popular with a lot of people. Just go to YouTube and Soundcloud and look at all the Vocaloid tracks. Covers, originals, you name it.
What else could Spectrasonics do that wouldn't be at least loosely related to something that they already have?
They have the bread and butter of just about any musical track (Drums, Bass and Omnisphere that covers just about everything else) so the only thing missing is vocals and guitar. Since they already said that guitar is out, it can only be vocals.
Anything else will be a super let down. I mean who needs 10 years to make a brass or string library or any orchestral library? A banjo VST? Who would even care?
And since Vocaloid is far from perfect (I like it and use it but it could be better) maybe Eric has unlocked the magic genie and has come out with a vocal producer that actually sounds human. How cool would that be for EDM, rock, pop and what have you producers who don't want the hassle of having to find and work with real singers?
So I'm calling it now. It's going to be major competition for this...
