Thanks a lot for reporting, we'll have a look at it. :tu:
Can already confirm it, happens on Mac as well.

I guess the FG is behaving as expected, but I am surprised that it doesn't move in the second half of the LFO's cycle - I expected it to always be triggered by notes (in addition to the FG input).
Could you post that preset, or send it to support[at]u-he.com?
We may find the answer in there, or it's a bug, we could check.

Cheers!

Love the sounds you get from it :tu:

I'm getting into comb filters since I got Zebra during the sale, and Vital around the same time, so the new filters in Hive (and now Dune) are more than welcome (and they sound lovely!).

Here's my take on the acoustic guitar with Hive. Only 1 Comb filter, white noise, no osc. Had some fun with a "Wish you were here" midi file :hihi:

my gosh, these new comb filtered sounds are, dare I say it, almost as good sounding as Diva. They're sounding less like patches and more like real instruments. Crazy times!

Yeah, sounds really great! You can either use the comb filter to make beautiful sounds like pdxindy and EdSfer, or you can choose chaos and make something like this :hihi:

Is Hive MPE capable? I can´t find anything about it in the settings and the manual. I would like to try out the new beta with a linnstrument, any help appreciated.

Yes, Hive is MPE capable... mostly

The u-he synths (except for Zebra2) support voice per channel. They do not support the full MPE protocol.

So you have Pitch, Pressure and Timbre and of course velocity. No release velocity with the u-he synths. There are 2 modulators on the u-he synths, Control A and Control B. These can be set to any CC#. So you would want to set one of them (in synth preferences) to CC#74 for Timbre.

Then of course set Hive's pitchbend range to what you want (usually +/-48). These values can be locked (right click) so you can switch presets and pitchbend stays at what you set it even if that preset was not saved for MPE.

The u-he synths do not implement the MPE master channel.

Hive's Mod Matrix has some matrix modifiers including some hardwired curve shapes. They are useful, but not great for MPE curves for pressure or timbre (not the most useful shapes). Perhaps someday there will be a custom curve option which would be handy for nuanced playing.

In practice, Hive works well enough for MPE playing and is satisfying to use. I use it with my Linnstrument.

Pdxindy's explanation is good and should help you get a better picture of what our synths (except Zebra2) can understand.
To avoid any broken promises, we have to say that we don't fully support it currently, and depending on the type of controller or DAW that you use, it may or may not work so well for you.
In Hive's user guide you'll find more details in the "multi-channel MIDI" paragraph.

Oh wow, yeah that is a thing, lol. I have to play about 3 or 4 notes but it does indeed get up there! :hihi:

We call it "multichannel MIDI" because it's actually polyphonic per channel, if you want. So with Linnstrument etc. if you set the synth to "poly", notes with long release will continue to sound when playing a new note on the same row/channel.

I've played around with the new filters a couple of days by now. I think they are excellent! I wouldn't except anything less tough.. ;)

Anyway, what i find the most interesting is how these filters react to.. anything. Change tuning in osc, unison, etc.. I also find myself browsing trough wavetables, which I often don't care for, just to hear how the filters respond.
The different modes also make a huge difference (of course). Especially between clean and the other two modes. I find that the sound change drastically when you switch, why is that? Just curious (If I make any sense). :)
