Finally, BrainWorx RockRack V3 is at a price that makes economic sense to me (about £4 with my voucher)!

If i was into the whole orchestral thing, i'd be all over Sonokinetic this year. Today's woodwinds promo looks especially good.

Hopefully we're last on the list or something. Won't lose sleep either, but I do plan on upgrading to the modeling collection in the next week or so. Would have been nice to snag a complimentary soundset for one of the new products.ghettosynth wrote:I didn't get one yet either and I've received it for the last three years. I also registered new products this year. I was not set to receive the newsletter. I see no other "mail preference." We'll see, I won't lose a lot of sleep over not getting it TBH.

There’s a Magix Music Maker update (v25.1.2) which fixed my activation issues. It’s available through the Update Program menu option.
I also saw that the Magix AM suite is available indiviually in the Magix in-app store (£8.99 each). They are awesome, if getting on a bit, are they in the latest Samplitude Music Studio? Might be time to upgrade, especially with the Music Maker Premium bundle upgrade including it.
Anyone wanting to upgrade any Magix software, if you leave it in your Shopping Cart overnight, Magix will send you a discount coupon (~$10) as an incentive to complete the order. You can also get discount codes by searching. You can only use them once, per account, and use only one at a time though

I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

I've been waiting for the woodwinds to come up, but now that they have I am kind of stuck trying to decide if I should go for the extended version for around $180 or just the regular version for around $143.mutantdog wrote:If i was into the whole orchestral thing, i'd be all over Sonokinetic this year. I've been trying to find threads on it. The main complaint I've found is that they are 3 instruments of each type rather than solo. I don't understand why you would want a bunch of solo instruments for an ensemble. And, I do have solo instruments for everything but the bassoon.
I hate making decisions......

Comparing the screenshots at the bottom of the page, the extended version has these extra articulations:
Sustains:
sustained trills major
sustained trills minor
Dynamics:
sforzando
dynamic trills major
dynamic trills minor
Runs:
minor melodic
chromatic
pentatonic
Special:
short mordents major
short mordents minor
frullato (flutes and clarinets only)
I know very little about orchestration but it seems like quite a lot extra.

Seems stupid not to grab the extended version. Especially when the standard plus upgrade is more than the extended.
The reviews are good, but everyone seems to think you will end up using something else that has solo and ensemble patches. Since I really am just getting started in orchestration type music, it is just kind of confusing to me. And though the VSL special edition is only$70, you don't get much in they way of articulations. And no runs. Plus it will play well with my other Sonokinetic stuff.
See, I've pretty much talked myself into it!

LOL! WTF would I do with two free Spectrasonics products? Oh wait, they still ship boxes right? I could use them to level up a bookshelf that's abit wonky, or give the box to my cat to play with.dandezebra wrote:I'm assuming it is two free Spectrasonics products of your choice...ghettosynth wrote:Right ?
