The fact that this was done by 7Skies got my attention:

Intro price until Jan 1. They will be offering extensions and I have a certain feeling that is going to take a toll on my budget.

Not that I can see - I believe owning EQ4 gets you a discount on EQ2 thoughe@rs wrote:Does owning Maag EQ2 (I'm very tempted to get it) open some upgrade route to EQ4?

I picked up the PA tuner, meter, and RockRack. Should be enough to keep me busy.

Ignore testimonials. Lots of high profile guys like Tiesto will endorse a pile of sticks if they get it for free. The whole product testimonial business is a racket. I speak from 1st hand experience.ghettosynth wrote:

Jfyi: PA and Dirk said on their Facebook group, that their vouchers are for personal use only. If people keep selling/trading/giving away they will implement a stricter verification when checking out. (E.g. will be bound to account or similiar)
Please do NOT share your vouchers. They are for YOU and your account (if you get them), and not to share, sell, trade...

Yes.. and even if they were true testimonials it doesn't mean the product is going to make you a better musician..pixie.army wrote:Ignore testimonials. I was totally joking, if that wasn't clear. A Tiestomonial is almost a guarantee that I won't be interested.pixie.army wrote:Ignore testimonials. I figured the same value restriction came from people setting up multiple accounts and thus having several $25 vouchers at their disposal. If the trading of them on Facebook is proportional to here, there's no doubt a lot of it going on.dermage wrote:Jfyi: PA and Dirk said on their Facebook group, that their vouchers are for personal use only. Actually not, at least not in the group where I am in. (Plugin Alliance Audiophiles, i think it's more or less the official PA group on FB)mutantdog wrote: If the trading of them on Facebook is proportional to here, there's no doubt a lot of it going on.
But anyway I'm sure they can track voucher usage per account, so it will be obvious if people are using multiple vouchers within a month.

Haha - sorry, my sarcasm detection is malfunctioning today. But seriously, I wish composers / producers were more responsible with their recommendations, and not so whorish. A lot of up and coming artists don't have a lot of money to spend, and don't have access to trying out everything on the market, and can therefore rely heavily on the opinions of people in the business. It makes be irrationally angry when I see these dummies hawking every little product, many that they never use, simply to feed their ego by getting their name on more things and horde free stuff. A few film composers I've crossed paths with are insanely guilty of this.ghettosynth wrote:I was totally joking, if that wasn't clear. I'm not nearly as convinced that these guys would endorse anything for free software (most of them live in very nice homes, with very nice cars and aren't that hungry) but I always keep my eyes open and read the reviews.
