We don't charge for download either. You have 180 days to back up your sounds and if you go beyond that there is a sound reactivation credit required to redownload (or you are free to make your case directly, I suppose, too) ALL of your libraries. It was previously a much shorter period of time and used to require a reactivation for each library, but now does not.
So at this point people should have 100+ days to download the SampleTank 3 content and back it up.
Your concerns and comments about this policy (and even recent changes to extend the time period of this policy) have been relayed. If you have a specific issue with downloading content or this reactivation is pertinent in the case of older libraries, our support team is available to you at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support

At least you've made it clear that the policy has nothing to do with paying for server costs, but as a penalty for the consumer, and another revenue stream for youPeter - IK Multimedia wrote:We don't charge for download either. And although it was very clear, we are not referring to downloads but re-downloads when we give examples of other companies doing right by their customers

I said nothing of the sort. Please don't put words in my mouth. If you would like to discuss it directly, please contact IK at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-us/ ... IKForm.php since I've moved on now as the dead horse has been beaten here. It has been clearly explained what the policy is and what you can do to avoid ever having to use a reactivation at all. I've simply stated the facts, and I am sorry if you are experiencing an issue where you do not have a backup of your sound libraries, we have an automated solution for that and a support team that can handle any specific issue/question you may have with it.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: At least you've made it clear that the policy has nothing to do with paying for server costs, but as a penalty for the consumer, and another revenue stream for you
BBFG# - boxed version as stated in my previous post is shipping in the second half of August and there has been no change in what I stated yesterday about the demo version.

You'll be the second set of people to know. I'll likely post it on our forum, then here once the free version is available.BBFG# wrote:Just keeping you on your toes...

Precisely. How could Peter have not known that we are talking about RE-downloads? This is just ridiculous. Do they ever admit they are wrong?

In other words, IKM will never admit they were wrong to charge people 15 euros to download EACH product and expansion library. Why don't you explain why you had this policy in the first place, and also why you've changed it? If it was right in the first place (which it clearly wasn't), why have you changed it? Why are you charging people anything at all to RE-download software they've already paid for, when most servers come with unlimited bandwidth nowadays, and therefore it can't cost you a penny extra?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:I said nothing of the sort. You continually skirt around the issue, Peter. We can all read.

I was curious about this too. It would probably be one of the few times, for me at least, that using Jampoints made sense.Bombadil wrote:Can we use jampoints [for the re-download]?

Yes, BERFAB, you will see the field to enter JamPoints in your cart and can as always apply them toward reactivation. Hope that helps.
