Has anyone run the 3.0.1 update yet ?

Cool. So less than $7 after jampoints. Not bad at all, considering the number of libraries I have locked up in there.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Yes, BERFAB, you will see the field to enter JamPoints in your cart and can as always apply them toward reactivation. Hope that helps.
Thanks

Yep. Still having trouble in Logic X. Support hasn't been able to suss out the issue, and I haven't heard back from them today.

That depends on where you (or your ISP) are registered. And it is a requirement of your Government, not specifically IK Multimedia.

I was all set to remove the voices as at first I though how bad they sounded, but then I started playing them more like an organ or something and they didn't sound at all like voices, but more like an old organ or mellotron or something. Maybe they shouldn't have called that section voices at all. Regardless, there is some very nice stuff inside some of these libraries and yes there are some clunkers as there are in most plugins.Bombadil wrote:Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: I would be seriously embarrassed by those 'certain solo vocals,' Peter. The voices in Logic X are better, but that isn't saying very much..

I expect that my word wouldn't be good enough and that my IP address gives me away. I live in Outer Hedonia, though, which should be tax-free.DarkStar wrote:^^^^

The Sampletron voices are more realistic than the solo vox. I don't wish to really harp on about that. The more I do play with ST3, the more I find that it can be useful to me. I have yet to experience a 'WOW!' and I don't expect I will. All I want now is for the damn AU to work properly for me in Logic.grdh20 wrote:I was all set to remove the voices as at first I though how bad they sounded, but then I started playing them more like an organ or something and they didn't sound at all like voices, but more like an old organ or mellotron or something. i didn't say you "SAID" anything, but it can be implied by what you have said, and what you have notPeter - IK Multimedia wrote:I said nothing of the sort. Please don't put words in my mouth. If you would like to discuss it directly, please contact IK at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-us/ ... IKForm.php since I've moved on now as the dead horse has been beaten here. It has been clearly explained what the policy is and what you can do to avoid ever having to use a reactivation at all. I've simply stated the facts, and I am sorry if you are experiencing an issue where you do not have a backup of your sound libraries, we have an automated solution for that and a support team that can handle any specific issue/question you may have with it.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: At least you've made it clear that the policy has nothing to do with paying for server costs, but as a penalty for the consumer, and another revenue stream for you
BBFG# - boxed version as stated in my previous post is shipping in the second half of August and there has been no change in what I stated yesterday about the demo version.
as for discussing directly, that is what i am doing. i am writing, you are quoting and replying etc etc you are always doing this, and while i appreciate the offer to have my concerns dealt with on a more personal level, i can't shake the feeling that it is more about damage limitation for your company. it also reminds me of this scene from goodfellas :
you keep saying the same thing again. of course, people can (and probably should) back up their stuff. but your policy stands to penalise those who don't, in a way that other companies don't feel the need to. the subtext to all of this leads me to that conclusion, without you needing to say it
the only case i can see, other than penalty, for charging to re-download is to offset server costs. the problem with that is there is no consistency. let's dispense with the 'company man' hat so we can dispense with you trying to thrill us with how ik have gone from a super-draconian re-downloads policy, to a still-draconian re-download policy.
so, how does this work ?? if it is about server cost, then you must have calculated how much it costs per customer, per gig, per month etc to host this data, remembering, of course, that it is the same data for everyone, and the same data that new customers need to download. so, then that figure needs to be offset against new sales, and isolated to find out the cost of the downloading, not hosting. the fact that it costs the same amount to download 2gig as 300gig makes no sense with regard to the server fees argument.
then what of the 6-month limit ?? why a limit ?? if i pay you my fee, presumably to cover the cost you pay to actually deliver that data to me from the server, then why does it expire ??
further to all of this, i have gleaned from one of your responses, that i actually have a time limit to d'load content for the first time. is that correct ??
it's all just arbitrary, and punitive, and will bring in a few coins from all of those who didn't get their shit together
as for you 'moving on' from this, that's fine. no one is forcing you to stay. this was not your thread to start with. somewhere along the way, you re-purposed it as your promotional tool, and try to keep shutting people down by diverting them away to other forums.
the users here have legitimate concerns which, within certain guidelines, are well within their rights to express

I never said you or anybody else didn't have a right to express it either. I've just expressed exactly what the policy is, and that your concerns are relayed. Yet it goes around and around. I get it, you don't like the policy and again I've relayed your concerns. THAT is why I'm moving on to the topics at hand that have not been beaten to death. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Yes, without getting HPC here that's something that would be great to not have to charge. In most cases, our products are available from dealers/distributors and this would be one reason why it is great to have them use their distribution network to sell you IK products locally. In this case, though, I know that dealers do not carry this item so it makes it difficult and this comes into play.Bombadil wrote:I expect that my word wouldn't be good enough and that my IP address gives me away. Glad to see, though, that people are interested in importing the SampleTank libraries they have and that there is some discussion of the new sounds and effects recently too. If any of the other policy-related concerns are a showstopper for anybody purchasing SampleTank 3, let me know (or let me know if you are simply protesting said policies here without interest in the product that we're discussing) so I can relay your concerns in context (or not, as it were).

it was very clear, as i am sure it is clear that your input regarding viewpoints for which you are contractually obliged not to be able to entertain, is maybe irrelevantPeter - IK Multimedia wrote:I never said you or anybody else didn't have a right to express it either. maybe before you go, you could confirm whether i have a time limit to d'load the libraries for the first time ??

Not sure I know what you mean, so I Google'd it and came up with High Performance Computing?
Since this has appeared to be much of the problems with certain software crashing (not being able to operate on a HPC), I lean more to an assumption that you mean something more like Hyper-Politically-Correct or something along that variant?
As far as downloading. The IKM server has given me a better consistency overall with less errors than what I've gotten from eSoundz. But I've noticed that even though a file may not show any issue in downloading, extracting, and installing; that some libraries have audible issues. Issues I found that were only resolved when I was able to install them from disk.
