@el-bo: The policy about how long you have to download has been posted already, I believe multiple times in this thread. And I'm not going anywhere, sorry if you misunderstood my previous posts about topics in this thread that are already beaten to death. If you are having trouble understanding the policy as I've stated it to you, there are resources on our web site that may help. This one in particular should help you along quite nicely: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/faq/2599

I was referring to political topics ending up in the Hyde Park Corner forum (into which a rant about taxation etc that I chose not to post would surely land) here. That's allBBFG# wrote: HPC?
Not sure I know what you mean, so I Google'd it and came up with High Performance Computing?
Since this has appeared to be much of the problems with certain software crashing (not being able to operate on a HPC), I lean more to an assumption that you mean something more like Hyper-Politically-Correct or something along that variant?

I take it that those who have not downloaded the content yet but have purchased SampleTank 3 may not have read the email received yet, from some of the confusion I am reading about in this thread:
FAQ section is here: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/faq and has some pertinent SampleTank 3 entries and I hope to see it grow over time.
That should clarify.IMPORTANT: You have 180 days from the date of registration to download the sound library from your User Area. We suggest to make a backup copy of the installers to avoid future delays/costs. After installation, if the sound library does not appear for use in the software, please visit the FAQ section

ok, i look forward to you presenting the feedback from all this info you are relaying - specifically , with regard to why people are given deadlines to download material that has to be permanently stored on the server, anyway, and for which would have already been paid for (even if paid for with a re-download token)Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:I take it that those who have not downloaded the content yet but have purchased SampleTank 3 may not have read the email received yet, from some of the confusion I am reading about in this thread:That should clarify.IMPORTANT: You have 180 days from the date of registration to download the sound library from your User Area. Ok, I went into my HS2 (HAlion Sonic 2)and dug a little deeper, since so many people were going gaga over it, maybe I was missing something..
Loaded up a Keyswitching Bass patch (Wirefinger). The control that you have over each keyswitch is nice (Amp/Filter/etc.), you can really customize your sound... But then I loaded up an ST3 bass patch against it... The ST3 sounded more real and full... It is just a better sound.
One can only imagine if there were Keyswitching Bass patches that came with ST3. (after seeing HS2 Keyswitching potential)... Just hope we won't have to wait too long before these dedicated libraries (Like Keyswitching Basses) become available for ST3. It don't look like anything will ever be released for HS2/H5... ever.

And how is HS not a lesson in this regard? Devs have to decide which platform(s) to tie themselves to, and with the variety of engine functionality and market penetration, that decision is not one to be taken lightly.Rajah wrote: Just hope we won't have to wait too long before these dedicated libraries (Like Keyswitching Basses) become available for ST3. You need to limit that rez, bro.

I read this and decided to test what you are saying.... didn't load the specific bass you had mentioned, but went thru a few j basses and acoustic basses on halion 5 vst st3, and to be fair and honest you are right..... The basses are much better (the ones I played anyway) on ST3 than HS2/H5. But I would never go for a bass on HS to being with ( I play bass and if I want a sampled bass, either Trilian or Kontakt gives me much better options)....But I just want to be honest and say that I do agree with you.Rajah wrote:Ok, I went into my HS2 (HAlion Sonic 2)and dug a little deeper, since so many people were going gaga over it, maybe I was missing something..

.............:
edit: I just compared the drums side by side of ST3 and HS2/H5, and although I never use drums from HS2/H5, the few kits I just tried out are much much better in Halion than ST3 imho....
.........
However the sounds I do use....... synths, strings, brass, mute guitars, guitar arpeggios, voices, pianos, clavinets etc..........HS2 are miles ahead sonically imho.

This is the forum equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and going "La la la! I'm not listening to you!"Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:I take it that those who have not downloaded the content yet but have purchased SampleTank 3 may not have read the email received yet, from some of the confusion I am reading about in this thread:That should clarify.IMPORTANT: You have 180 days from the date of registration to download the sound library from your User Area. Why do you never actually address what people are asking you, Peter? You keep referring to 'it's been addressed in previous posts', but you've never actually answered the simple questions people have been asking.
Why is there a 180 day limit to download something that costs hundreds of dollars, when there are NO extra costs involved for you, since unlimited bandwidth is standard on hosting services nowadays?
Is that simple enough? (I'm sure you'll ignore that question, just like you've ignored all the previous questions I've asked about your policies.) Please don't refer us to somewhere on the IKM site, just answer the simple question here.
