Maybe it's because I've worked in acid for so long, but I don't miss the assign slices to midi feature. In fact, if it had it I don't think I would even use it. The reason I use acid is because it works the way I think. It does what I want it to do. I like the way it handles loops.
And with the new features... well, I'm satisfied.
You may want something else. That's fine too.

Yes, ACID supports multi-out VST Instruments.
ACID 5 would add all the outputs of a VSTi autmatically and you could only have all or none.
ACID 6 lets you pick which additional outputs you want for each VSTi that support multiple outputs. (You must always have the "master" output pair)
You add additional outputs by right clicking on the bus of the VSTi and selecting which additional outputs you want.

These are more about the VST surround/speaker placement model than simple multiple outputs.gsh wrote:bpan from http://www.dmalham.freeserve.co.uk/vst_ambisonics.html and i will be starting to use more spatial audio plugins like the ones from http://acousmodules.free.fr/ and gerzoniz.net

Perhaps in a future version of our products we will add support for the VST speaker model.

Excellent! I need to see the demo for myself.munchkin wrote:I've found ACID 6 is causing no problems on my PC. The new features seem to work without a hitch and my ACID 5 projects load fine. The midi implimentation is very intuitive IMO. Multiple clips on one track are very useful. Synth automation seems to work ok. The gui is easy to work with and retains the ACID feel.
Media manager is easy to switch off but is very useful for cataloging files if you need that option.
If you use ACID a lot then v6 is a fantastic upgrade. I don't need to use Sonar at all now. Those who are thinking of switching can use the fully functioning demo for 30 days. Not a dongle in sight!

Thanks Peter, that clears everything up.SonyPCH wrote:No, ACID does not support multiple output VST FX.

£43 including shipping + the ACID pro seminar DVD set, thrown in as well for free (Costs £50 on the Sony site!)
Better still it was a totally new box never used, still sealed!
I had been looking for a cheap way to upgrade to ACID 6 but did not imagine I would find V.5 brand new with a £50 multi DVD training set thrown in for free as well.
Anyway an even bigger surprise awaited me...when I went through the very comprehensive seminar series I was surprised by the feature set ACID 5 offers, I had no idea ACID 5 was so capable audio wise at least. I have no idea how many ACID users have used the seminar training series but I highly recommend them. I would happily pay £50 for the training DVD's. Excellent.
Of course my ACID 6 upgrade is now on it's way.
I ordered the seminar series for Vegas as well. Will certainly look out for the ACID 6 Seminar series when it is ready.

Yes I too remember some sort of offer from Sony to this effect but I think that was only valid for about a month from the release date for ACID 6.ttoz wrote:but you bought acid pro 5 NOW, so it should have been a free upgrade as it had never been registered...weird..christianmusicmaker wrote:Sony have a special upgrade discount running until the 31st of may...£69/$129.stale bread wrote:so how much was your upgrade to acid 6?
